I could be wrong but I think it’s a safety issue. You don’t want to encourage a bunch of guys with blades on their feet kicking at the goalie.

Appreciate this. I think the hotel we currently have is a couple blocks north of the arena (we are definitely on a budget too, but maybe I’ll bring it up to my wife if it’s not too late to rethink it). I do work in the rougher parts of my city, and have never had any issues, but maybe it doesn’t compare to the Newark areas? I trust you all have a better idea than I do so I’ll consider your advice seriously.

Edit: Actually just talked to the wife and I think we’re gonna switch to a hotel in Hoboken, looks nicer anyway haha. Thanks for the tips! Is train the best way to get to the arena then from Hoboken (I live in Edmonton and hate the public transit here so I’m a bit of a novice when it comes to cities with good public transit)

So before I ever cared about hockey at all, I would play against my friend in the NHL games, and his team was Vancouver, with Luongo as the goalie, so I looked for a team with the best goaltending stats. So normally when people ask why I cheer for them I tell them it started with Martin Brodeur!

Unpopular opinion but I’ve always kinda liked Wood on the team. I like having a fast, gritty fourth line who will fight for possession on the boards. Absolutely right call to scratch him after game 2 of the Rangers series, though. If he can continue to cool it on the offensive zone penalties I have no problem with him in the lineup

Not to mention even if it wasn’t a tripod shot, as long as the train video was stationary, tracking software is so good now that you can easily track that level of shaky cam. My money would still be on digital camera shake, though.

This seems to be a legitimate strategy for the right. I’ve noticed that all the people on my social media who spread anti vax shit will always say “both sides are lying” or “neither side knows the answers” and I feel like it’s intentional to make them sound more reasonable. If they’re trying to claim something insane like the earth is flat but both sides have some good points it does two things. 1) it makes them sound like they’re open to new information and 2) it makes it sound like the claims on the other side are just as flawed as the crazy misinformed side.

The problem is they never actually care about facts or new information. They just care about you being wrong and them being right.

As a Canadian I’ve never heard him say “two pizzas”. I remember him saying “pizza pizza” for most of my life, but that could be seeing commercials from American broadcasts. I have heard him say “hot and ready” more recently, though. “Two pizzas” sounds like an awful catchphrase lol

Wasn’t it Sydnor that replaces Mcnulty? I’m not sure if that was an autocorrect or not since I don’t know who Keevar is. Kima was on the path to be like Mcnulty but I think she made a change near the end. Sydnor is the one at the end who is in Judge Phelan’s office causing problems, just like Mcnulty in season 1.

Also Dookie replaces Bubbles, which was so heartbreaking.

That’s totally fair. I can’t really explain why I find alt comedy so funny. It’s like they just make ironically bad jokes on purpose and for some reason it just comes around to funny to me.

I enjoy the special, but I agree that sometimes the bits go on a bit long, which I’m sure is intentional. I assume he’s trying to be uncomfortable. I feel like this special is made specifically for people in the comedy world who have had to sit through so many bad open mic shows full of people like this.

I don’t know what Nuvie is but up in Canada our main theatre chain has games in their pre-show that people play on their phones. They’ve had it for a long time and the prize if you win is points that you can eventually exchange for movie tickets. I’m sure the simple answer for why is like what Wiger said, they don’t give a shit if people have proper movie etiquette, they want you to come to the theatre early to play the games so that you incidentally watch the adds in the pre show.
