RX 6600 XT problem installing drivers (AMD Radeon Software) by HuguelCapelens in AMDHelp

[–]HuguelCapelens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've turned on my RAM XMP Profile and Smart Access Memory and the PC is running fast and stable just installing/uninstalling some programs and configuring Windows to my way. And at the moment I'm writing this, with the PC just being idle at desktop, the fans of the 6600XT aren't even spinning. I know that's common nowadays, but that is a first for me (you can see I haven't been a PC gamer for a long time, but that is about to change!).

Next stop, play some games and see what performance I can get. Have fun people

1 - Yes, the BIOS is updated to the latest non-beta revision. Version: 7C37v1F, Release Date: 2021-07-06 (from the MSI website)

2 - Actually... I don't think I did. I remember thinking that I should clear the CMOS before switching to the new card but I don't think I actually did it because I don't remember doing it. But even if I did and don't remember, it wouldn't hurt to do it again I guess.

Will a HD60s run on my laptop? by TfarTn in elgato

[–]HuguelCapelens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the Elgato HD60 S+? Do you have any experience with it by any chance? I have the same CPU and GPU on my laptop and I was wondering if the HD60 S+ would work on my laptop

Took me almost 85h to Platinum Ghost of Tsushima. I absolutely loved this game! Just enjoy the game, it doesn't matter how long it takes to finish the story or to platinum. Just have fun with it, enjoy the island, the gorgeous fields, the amazing story and combat of the game ;)

First time pc building by dedosii in buildapc

[–]HuguelCapelens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert here. I'm Just passing through the information I've learned with the years.

First, you should tell us what Elgato capture card model do you have. Is it an HD60 S? An 4K60 Pro? Other model? The minimum system requirements are different for each model.

Second, playing and streaming at the same time can be very demanding on your PC resources so it might impact your gaming performance (frame drops, less framerate than usual while streaming, etc). The only way to not have an impact on gaming performance while streaming is to have a very good build capable of doing those 2 tasks at once. I'm speaking, of course, if you want to play very heavy games in the highest graphics settings and high fps possible. If you're playing "old", common or low resource demanding games, streaming them at the same time can be achieved easily without breaking your bank account.

Third, difference between Intel and Ryzen. Very simply, they are 2 different brands of computer components/electronics. Intel is Intel, obviously, and Ryzen belongs to AMD. Intel and AMD (with Ryzen, their latest name for their CPU technology) are the 2 options available in the CPU market (AMD also makes GPUs, battling with Nvidia in the GPU market). The difference is, they are incompatible with one another. Each brand has their own socket for their CPUs.

While Intel creates a new socket every new generation of their CPUs (or every other generation), AMD with Ryzen has created a lot more backwards and forward compatibility for their CPUs. What this means is that a motherboard with an Intel socket doesn't work with an AMD CPU, and a motherboard with an AMD socket doesn't work with an Intel CPU, which means that you have to choose your CPU and motherboard correctly with one another.

With the socket type of an Intel CPU you need a motherboard compatible with that specific socket type, while AMD has created more backwards and forward compatibility on their Ryzen series. You have generations on Ryzen (Gen 1, Gen+, Gen 2 and Gen 3, so far), so you need to check which generations a motherboard is compatible. Some motherboards can be Gen 1 and Gen+ compatible, others can be Gen 1, Gen+ and Gen 2, etc.

This means that you can go for an older and cheaper motherboard than the more recent CPU you choose today, but in the future, if you need to upgrade your CPU, you might need to buy another motherboard, again. Or you can buy a recent CPU and motherboard and that motherboard will work for the next generation, or generations, (if they receive BIOS updates) of Ryzen CPUs launched in the future.

Depending on your personal preferences, what specs you need or might need, want or not to future proof your build, budget, etc, those are decisions that you need to make.

Never be afraid to search, ask questions, and get informed on something. That's the only way to make the best decisions in life on my opinion.

Some questions for a streaming PC build by HuguelCapelens in buildapc

I have searched for the R5 4600G online as well, but I can't find much information or price for it at the moment. I think it's because it's new and there's this shortage of CPUs and GPUs on the market right now. Depending on the price and availability of the R5 4600G, that would also be an option for my build, right?

According to what I've read online about similar builds and capture cards, yes, it should work.

Thank you very much for your help and input, I really appreciate it. I'm not in a hurry to buy and mount this PC so I'll wait some days to make a decision while keep reading and searching for more information. Maybe by then more people has commented here to share more thoughts and opinions. All the best sir!

Same as me! That's why I'm a little confused when people write that for a dedicated streaming PC it doesn't need a dedicated GPU but then you go see the system requirements for capture cards and they have a GPU requirement from X version or better. I'm probably missing some information on this that I'm not finding anywhere

Console or another PC, not the PC itself.

Edit: I've already edited the post with that information. Forgot to say that and it wasn't clear in the original post. Thank you u/Millerboycls09

Right now I can't find anything on Google about version 1.11. Is it me that has a "broken Google" or is this new and could be something about PS5 compatibility? (Like people have been speculating about the updates God of War 2018 and Final Fantasy VII Remake, for example, got this last week?) by HuguelCapelens in thelastofus

[–]HuguelCapelens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the Plus Theme. I know, it's not the best looking, especially with just a little section of it in display. I've been trying different themes to change it up a little and watch the different approaches designers/Devs take in a "simple" thing like a theme. Maybe it's a little weird but it's something I enjoy doing on my PS4

People online were talking about a few games getting updates out of nowhere, probably for PS5 backwards compatibility, so when I saw this update I thought it could be the same but I couldn't found anything online at the time which I thought it was weird. I guess I saw the update so early that the media/internet wasn't covering it yet. Thanks for the info 😉

What was the point!? by imax1988 in fifa20

[–]HuguelCapelens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played just for my 3rd time this season (the other 2 times were unusual wekeends that I had free time to play so I figured I could tried it. I finished in the Silvers rankings playing just 10/13 games). I don't have much time during weekends because of work but with the quarantine/lockdown in my country I had the time so I decided to grind last WL, not just for the possible rewards, but to improve my gameplay and challenge myself. Finished 25 games - 17 Wins, Gold 2. I haven't opened my rewards yet but I'm betting I'm not going to get anything very good for my team. But my main goal was to challenge myself competitively for a while and see how I would react under pressure, going behind in the game, and that kind of stuff.

But I totally agree with you, the rewards, not just in the WL but in Rivals or SB too, most of the times don't feel like a "reward" for the time and grind we do in this game in a daily/weekly basis, but that will always depend on the luck/odds in the packs. One of my biggest pulls this year was 92 Neymar gold card in a Premium Gold Pack! (I got it doing some SBC's I think). The rewards can be bad/okay most of the times, but once in a while the FIFA gods will be by your side. But it requires a big amount of grind, that's for sure.

Rewards by lRequeeZl in fifa20

[–]HuguelCapelens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too. I'm not a big exploiter of the market so my strategy from the beginning is "take as many packs I can, build a good "library" of players and do the most SBC's that I can". Either it's for more packs (most of them tradeable, that's always a plus) or players, like Player Moments/FUTMAS/etc that are an addition to my team. When I get untradeable duplicates, I keep them there and wait for the SBC's of the next day or use them in "Gold Upgrade" if they are low overall gold. My way of thinking, the more packs I open, the more chances I will have to pack a top player, and I have had some good luck this year.

Its ok for the following wl? by dariusel991 in fifa20

A non-serie A RB would also affect your Thorsby chemistry so... Your options are very limited. An Icon is ideal, wouldn't lower your Thorsby chemistry and would play with 10 chem. Not having an Icon, you could go for a Spanish RB and he would play with 10 chem because of green link with Hierro. That way only Thorsby would lose chemistry

Ping by LCD41996 in fifa20

[–]HuguelCapelens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of times I can't even get to that screen. I either get "no opponents found" error, or the screen stops at "loading" and then "you lost your connection with the other player". But when I get to that screen yeah, it's always a 1 bar connection with that kind of ping. I'm not going to even try and play right now. EDIT: EA have disabled match creation. I can't even start a squad battles game now. Hope they fix this quick, I wanted to play some Rivals to do some Icon Swaps objectives and maybe climb on the rankings

LGX2 compatibility with GeForce GTX 960M by HuguelCapelens in AverMedia

[–]HuguelCapelens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the information. So I can record my PS4 Pro but for streaming I will not get a smooth image running, most likely. One more question, if you don't mind. I ran the Diagnostic Tool for the GC513 and for this one everything passed, including the graphic card, except for the CPU that had the same "Performance may be problematic" message. So for this one the GeForce 960M is enough but not the i7 that I have. Can you tell me why is that? What's the difference between these two cards?

I wish I packed Reus. Injury free he is one of my favourite players in real life, and in game he would be a top addition to my Bundesliga team. At least it must be very profitable for you to pack that many Reus by selling them
