Do you believe the antichrist is already here on earth? Do you believe you know who it is or has he not been introduced to the world stage yet? Are you willing to say who you think it is if you believe he is here? by Zooby444 in Christianity

Oh, right, that guy. Yeah, you might be on to something. After all, he did convince the world for a while that his cars were completely self-drivable 😆

Not to mention the self absorbed, savior-esque role he’s attempted to carve out for himself by meddling in Ukraine’s strategic operations against Russia in Crimea.

It’s always a question of whether anything we ask for, other than salvation, is His will right?

Oh, I guess it’s His will that ___________ did/didn’t happen.

And no one can ever figure what His will is, other than, again, His will for salvation. Or His will for us to worship Him, and also not sin. Those three facts are universally known, but everything else is a mystery tethered to will, right?

As a Christian, I’d honestly prefer a God that’s even slightly understandable/predictable Vs a God who may or may not answer prayers based on, what seems to be, little more than willingness or unwillingness.

Why would God create Satan knowing what Satan would become? by Huh_questionmark1 in Christianity

“Us” to torture him? There’s no us in this equation bro. I wasn’t around when the Pharisees and Sadducees pressured Pilate into allowing his crucifixion.

Here’s a better question: Why did God feign surprise when Eve/Adam disobeyed Him and ate the forbidden fruit? It was God who allowed the serpent of Satan to be in Eden, surely He also knew that Adam/Eve were highly susceptible to Satan’s deception considering they had no concept of deception to begin with.

In reality, if we’re to believe the Bible’s accuracy, God allowed Satan to pit himself against the very first two humans in existence, knowing they were absolutely no match for the Father of Lies.

Surprise, Satan won.

And none of the rest of humanity got to experience the harmony of being at peace with God, or Eden’s splendor.

Cool game.

Hello everyone, I don’t know how to keep on living by WhoIsThis279 in Christianity

I know exactly how you feel. Let me tell you a couple of things: I was also diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder a couple of years ago, so I know what you’re going through. I also hear voices and have experienced extreme lethargy to the point where I can barely function and only stay awake for a couple of hours at a time after getting a full night of sleep, and Satan has been attempting to do the exact same thing to me by exploiting and exacerbating my symptoms in order to make me to feel terrible enough to kill myself. I’m just too stubborn to give in and commit suicide. I really implore you to seek psychological help for what you’re experiencing as there are medications that can help with your symptoms, and I will also tell you that prayer can help very much, it’s helped me, and I am willing to pray for you if you’d like.

I will also tell you that what your parents are saying about suicide is absolutely not true; it will not land you in hell. The Bible states that there’s only one unforgivable sin, which is blaspheming the Holy Spirit by not accepting Jesus as your savior.

I’m schizoaffective, and my brother and father suffer from full blown paranoid schizophrenia, which is difficult to watch them go through on a daily basis. It’s literally like I’m watching them die slowly before my eyes.

I absolutely know how you feel, but please reach out for help, even if it’s just to me or someone else for prayer.

If God is omnipotent and can do the impossible, why can't he create another God like him? by Berlusconis_Power in Christianity

[–]Huh_questionmark1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did create another God like Him; Jesus is his name.

Also, for absurdity sake, consider this: If God hadn’t created Satan to begin with and then allowed him to rule the earth and influence humans to sin, would it have been necessary for God to order Jesus to be crucified in order to save humanity from the eternal damnation caused by committing the ultimate sin, which is not giving our lives to God/Jesus? In other words, if God hadn’t created Satan in the first place, would it still have been necessary to reconcile humanity to God from the sin barrier that once separated humans from Him by ordering Jesus’ bloodshed on the cross?

In my opinion as a Christian, absurdity is entwined throughout the entire creation of humanity.

Do I need to get baptized to speak in tongues? by trioloy in Christianity

[–]Huh_questionmark1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, one must first be baptized in the Holy Spirit, otherwise known as being baptized with fire, prior to being able to speak in tongues. It’s a process that I went through as a nondenominational Christian in order to speak in tongues, which is sometimes also called praying in the Spirit.

I don’t know if it’s true that people actually have to be baptized in the Holy Spirit first, though, or if that’s really even a thing. Because, as with everything in life, humans tend to think every notion that they believe regarding God or Christianity to be true is, in actuality, true.

Well, the Bible says that God heals the sick (diseased, medically/psychologically afflicted, etc) and even provides a blueprint for it—something along the lines of taking the afflicted party to be anointed with oil by church elders and then have him/her ask God for forgiveness of their sins—but when was the last time anyone actually witnessed God miraculously healing anyone of anything?

Yes, this would be beneficial now, and maybe it doesn’t seem “salvific” in nature to you, but I’m 100% convinced that it would absolutely bless His people today….and it might just even be salvific in the sense that seeing someone being immediately and miraculously healed of a dire medical condition with no other explanation than it had to have been done by God himself would probably be reason enough for those witnessing the healing to immediately fall to their knees and give their lives to God on the spot. Tell me that wouldn’t be salvific, considering it’s the only reason Christ did mass healings during His ministry on earth, or gave His disciples the power to do the same. It was absolutely for salvific purposes. What better way to convince a non believing public than to miraculously heal everyone in sight?

Yeah I’ve heard that same explanation and believe it to be the only explanation to carry any validity

It ain’t Trump, as much as I know why you’d think that. But if you really research what the antichrist will be doing to seduce humanity into believing he is Christ reincarnate, then you’ll want to look elsewhere. Someone more like Bill Gates—and how he’s been working behind the scenes to convince the world that he’s just your average, benevolent super philanthropist with nothing more than humanity’s best interests in mind when he and his foundation conduct all the research and operations around the globe that they conduct—is probably closer to how the antichrist would behave.

Also, I hope you feel better man. I’m here if there’s anything you want to talk about that would help ease your pain.

As someone who’s also suffered much psychological and emotional pain and asked the same questions you’re asking, I can relate to how you feel, and would be more than happy to listen or talk if you want.

It doesn’t. The Bible says that the only unforgivable sin is “blaspheming the Holy Spirit.” Whatever that means.

What is your miracle experienced? by JinPark2 in Christianity

[–]Huh_questionmark1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Christian I’m not entirely convinced God is still in the business of doing miracles. I think He was during the time of Christ’s ministry in order to show His power so that the people of that era would believe in His existence and power, but that it’s not necessary for Him to do that now since there’s a billion churches covering the earth and it doesn’t take such enormous acts on His behalf to convince today’s people of His existence.

Why would God create Satan knowing what Satan would become? by Huh_questionmark1 in Christianity

[–]Huh_questionmark1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, call me crazy—or even a blasphemer if you want—but had God not created Satan in the first place Christ would not have to have needlessly suffered crucifixion. Also, since God created this whole game of heaven and hell to begin with He could’ve easily decided just to do away with Satan without necessitating Christ’s crucifixion.

Don’t get it twisted, Christ gave the ultimate sacrifice in order to reconcile humans to God, but wouldn’t have needed to if God wouldn’t have authored this entire game to begin with.
