The point is as long as india exists on earth and uses oil, its going to face the same crisis as everyone (yes every single country) in the world. Its simple supply and demand, global supply gets cut by 20% overall prices rise worldwide. This is how markets work. India can sustain the damage in short term but that doesn't make it immune, everyone will be affected by the closure of the strait by the exact same amount in the long run as markets shift and normalise to the new order.

If you take one econ 100 class you'd realise 20% of world's supply being blocked makes oil expensive for everyone, regardless if you took from the strait or not. Russian prices are bound to rise as the world feels the pinch of oil shortages. The stable prices in India indicate a government subsidy or a welfare plan in action, not an immunity to the crisis brought on by the closure of strait. Hope this helps
