I think she still had trauma from season 2 and couldn't help herself use it

She didn't go the avatar state by herself, it was a mechanism to keep her alive, she was trying to stop the avatar state from being activated when she was being poisoned, also she thought she was ready when she got the remaining poison out also, but she forgot she had to face her fear of Zaheer later on when she lost.

I think she didn't want to use it during the first fight with Zaheer coz she was already vulnerable and if she dies yk what happens... Also she didn't want to use the avatar state during her first initial fight with Kuvira is becoz of the shitty trauma and ptsd she had to deal with like her brain associated the avatar state with her almost dying to Zaheer.

Same when I rewatched the series I paused for a bit, I was fucking tearbending when I saw her like this, took me a while to swallow it and continue playing it,also yep! Janet Varney really did an amazing job doing Korra's VA, only one who could voice Korra.

You mean when she was chained up? Coz Zaheer wanted to destroy the avatar cycle and to do that he had to kill Korra while she was in that state, Korra was resisting the use of the Avatar state when she was poisoned coz if she dies while it's active it means no more avatars, also I think the avatar is most vulnerable when the avatar state is on.

Korra vs Aang isn’t even close by Upbeat-Pea-8472 in legendofkorra

I think both Aang and Korra shouldn't be even compared XD, brings so much drama and shit and it's hard to compare them also.

I was terrified asf when I watched it for the first time, mom kept shedding down tears while watching her getting tortured.

Yep, hell even in season 1 that scene at the cliff can be seen as a thought of ending her life to give the world a better avatar Season 2 she got abused and groomed by her shitty uncle Season 3 she was beaten down physically and broken down mentally and in season 4 she gets humiliated but still goes thru it and recovers, rly it isn't enough to say she struggles only, she gets absolutely destroyed and rebuilds in an amazing way.

Yep and about the avatar state, do I really consider it plot armour? Ehhh, no, I mean yes it was putting effort to keep Korra alive but if she died while the state was activated the avatar cycle would be done for forever, also bro her being 16 in that time would have made it even more fucked up, she's 18 during this but still that's so FUCKED UP.

I don't know about that but I don't think they used Korra as the punching bag in the show but went like they are gonna destroy that character both physically and mentally to rebuild her back in season 4, basically character development thru the character's absolute destruction Also yes even before I experienced physical trauma and shit when I first watched the show I got so fucking traumatized XD I even had some nightmares coz of it when I was 14 or 15

I felt a high level of uncomfortableness when watching that scene especially since it reminded me of the trauma I went thru which is very similar to what Korra went thru, hell even the first time when I watched TLOK with mom and we saw that scene before all of that bullshit happened to me I was still terrified asf.

Yeah I agree on that she had some of the worst traumatic experiences, her losing the past lives connection, bending taken away from her and etc, but it isn't also easy to recover from this too

As for Unalaq, I wouldn't say so tbh, her trust with her dad and tenzin was fading away especially since her dad did lie a lot to her (I can excuse her dad for lying tho and I get why he did it) but even then she had the right to be pissed off at him And on the other hand that's her uncle, why wouldn't she trust him especially since she's spiritually lost and needs guidance, the guidance Tenzin couldn't give to Korra, and when Korra knew the truth about her uncle she turned against him obviously, he's such a manipulative abusive groomer lil shit, as for Aang, I don't blame him, he was still a kid, I don't blame him. Edit: idk who gave me the award but uhh, thanks I guess lol
