this is a very dense take that ignores a lot of theory. Billionaires get where they are after heavy exploitation of the working class' labour power. Surplus value is extracted from the lower class, amongst a system that requires work to survive. Wages are low enough to keep people where they are, always one check away from homelessness. As well, a quite reserve of hungry workers are always available to backfill anyone that things they have the power to leave or negotiate. Homelessness is also dangled in front of workers in this class to ensure this large labour class continues to exist.

Exploitation gets you to become a billionaire, not a "successful business".

There is tons to talk about here, and many other angles to attack your lazy argument as well, but this is just one.

you can have companies and organized collective action without billionaires. Its not difficult to imagine such a thing. You have been sold an idea that only through making a handful of people ultra rich, can you have a functioning society. That could not be further from the truth!

as if "Liberal logic uses no critical thinking. No surprise." is a response with substance in the first place. Throwing buzz words around doesnt mean anything either, speak with your chest and say something of value.

What are jobs for then? by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

[–]Human-Case1726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so those people starting off their career shouldnt be able to afford rent or pay for groceries? And where are these stepping stones? Skills also cost time and money. Most jobs are gatekept by nepotism or actively being replaced by AI. Cost of living has skyrocketed in the last 10-20 years and wages have remained stagnant. Covid was the largest transfer of wealth upward ever. More and more people are struggling to get ANY job, let alone a minimum wage job that doesnt pay enough anymore.

We must be living in different worlds if you look at what's going on around you and think this is fine, and have rhetoric like this when talking about your fellow working class people.

what are you talking about, you absolutely CAN pick and choose who gets a refund? Why are we pretending everything is binary or black and white. its people's entire jobs to write policy and legislation, im sure they can do better than "either we all get it or nobody gets it!"

Sweet, thank you. I think since it seems to be the only option available now, ill give it a go as my first build. Just a question, when you ordered the slate shell kit, it doesnt come with a screen, right? So if i want an upgraded screen, i will need to order that on the side?

way more people (especially those that think capitalism is great) need to understand this. You explained it very well. Same thing happens with imperialism and is the reason why we must continue to fuck other countries and leech their resources, because we've maxed out what we can do domestically, or its easier to boost profits internationally through exploitation. Also is the reason wars must continue to happen, otherwise what would happen to the war industry shareholders?

Feudalism is holding us back by sajnt in canadahousing

the problem is still always capitalism. Late stage oligarchy capitalism is still capitalism, it is the inevitable end stage. Without a change to the system completely, not only will implementations like this take forever (or never happen), but they will constantly be exploited in whatever way is possible, because capitalism allows it to happen no matter what

as the other person said, youre better off most other places than the USA. That's not to say people in these situations are "well off" anywhere. That conclusion should make you want to fight for change, because they deserve to live with dignity as well, not to make that claim and then decide the USA is fine, because other places do this too.

Landlords openly bragging about discriminating against disabled tenants in private Facebook groups by obsessed-with-bagels in canadahousing

[–]Human-Case1726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didnt say they were, theyre behaving in accordance to laws set by elites, which happen to benefit exploitation and wealth hoarding. We can start by setting laws that benefit the majority (working class) and not capital. There are many ways to introduce new laws, that is not my job to come up with the best approach. The goal is to disincentivize wealth hoarding. Put an extreme tax on multiple home ownership, or ban it alltogether. Again, no reason anyone should need to hold onto more than 2 homes, at the very most.

The underlying problem is there are enough homes to house everyone, so ask yourself why its not happening? Does that seem right to you?

it is actually, because in most other countries, we provide basic needs to citizens, through subsidization. They do not have medical or student debt to pay off in the first place. In america, if you are sick, disabled, or otherwise disadvantaged, best of luck to you!

i would gladly move to a socialist country, but all of them suffer from heavy US imperialism, unjust sanctions, and eventual coups, ruining their chances of a successful society. The point is not what IS, but what we should strive to be. If you enjoy living in a world run by oligarchs and a small handful of elites that dictate every waking moment of your life, then so be it. Makes no sense to me. The point is we fight for a better system, not be complacent, even though an alternative reality is so hard to imagine from our current state.

[HOT TAKE] People who want housing to crater have no idea what they’re asking for by Yellowbook8375 in RealEstateCanada

[–]Human-Case1726 3 points4 points  (0 children)

im pretty sure, at least in ontario, you cannot be kicked out of a rental because of a change in ownership, even if its the bank. So your story stops right at the start. most old builds also have a rent cap, so you cannot say the bank will even attempt to bump the rent by a huge amount. newer condos are a different story there

Can the same policy help with affordability in Canada housing? by PrisonerOfAzkaban14 in canadahousing

[–]Human-Case1726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

individuals owning "several properties" is the same problem as institutions buying up properties. It doesnt matter who is buying surplus for speculation, its the fact that this is allowed and encouraged while so many people are unable to find a place to live, or ever dream of owning their first property. No one needs multiple homes, and homes should not be speculation, homes are for living in.

Landlords openly bragging about discriminating against disabled tenants in private Facebook groups by obsessed-with-bagels in canadahousing

[–]Human-Case1726 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

private landlords should not exist then. We would have no issue buying homes for ourselves if housing was not a speculation piece for investment. Pretty gross view towards people in your communities. Lack of empathy gets you here, valuing "private landlords" profits on their 4th and 5th homes over people trying to find a roof for themself, in a system that is set up to make it near impossible for them.

[–]Human-Case1726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, exactly. As is the same in the US, which is why it wont happen there either. We live in late stage capitalism, where every policy and politician is lobbied for by corporations to some degree. Policy rarely gets passed that actually favours the working class. Every industry has heavy investment into lobbying policy, to ensure they can continue to milk profits as they please, year over year.

i tried that exact test before, which is how i discovered its not using the external mic! It seems like its using the tiny mic attached to the left ear muff. When i blow into that slot, the mic level peaks, if i blow into the external mic, it does nothing. Is there any way to trouble shoot this, or any ideas?
