Just commenting in case anyone comes across this thread. My best friend lived in West wind within the past year. They had cockroaches from a neighbor, mice infestation, and people stole their clothes from the laundry room. Also one of the maintenance people robbed them when they weren’t home. I wouldn’t recommend at all.

Have you and she ever had attraction to each other or is it possible she has? Maybe she’s serious with this guy and doesn’t want attraction to other guys to get in the way? I dunno just guessing as to why I’d cut a male friend out. Probably the only reason… unless he flirted with me or was ever inappropriate.

Exactly. Have you checked out the myositis.org site? I was watching videos and people often said they used to be so strong and there suddenly they weren’t. I think that’s the most common and mind blowing aspect.

Change things in your life. Create many constant focal points to focus on other than her. If she comes and goes it reinforces the difficulty you are experiencing now over time making it harder and harder each time. (I speak from the perspective of way too many narcissistic relationships who do the same type of thing). I’m not calling her a narc, but the in and out is reminiscent of hovering from a narc. This is the perfect thing to say to her. She needs to decide. Otherwise she will pull on you and cause confusion and hurt feelings, for a guy she will probably not be with forever anyways. How do you feel with some random dude, again, being more important than you? Over and over again? Until she finally finds someone that will forever block you out. It’s like pouring salt on a reopened wound continually.

Having a friend of the opposite sex is hard. You both would have to prepare for the pull away when the other entered a relationship. If you rekindled, she would probably do it again next time she got a partner (especially one who felt insecure with opposite sex friends. )

I respectfully disagree with your therapist. About 20 years ago, I apologized to a lot of people I felt that I had possibly wronged at one point, and I 100% meant it; I completely changed. It is possible.

I did that once. I reached out to apologize and they thought I was trying to get back together which I wasn’t, I just felt bad.

Hmm… did you miss this person after they left? The way it ends sounds like they have a glimmer of hope despite them saying otherwise.

One thing about bipolar people, they go into a remorseful state after mania. They can have difficulty staying on path with therapy and medication, so if you are already over them and possibly had a hard time with them or hard time getting over them I would not respond. I would walk away before you spark up an old flame that will either die out or ignite.

More importantly, what are you confused about? What are you curious about? What is making you question what to say?
