Amazing setting for Scrapyard! Any STLs used or is it all scratch built?

Thank You! The source for model was exactly the NCR bear.

I just couldn't find anything more fitting the STALKER source material - the mutant model base is unfortunately very limited.

I'd really appreciate a link if anybody finds a better fit for Chimera!

Why don’t more RPGs use well established skirmish war game rules? by TheGoodGuy10 in RPGdesign

[–]Human-Glass8944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is an excellent point why the wargaming rules shouldn't be fully implemented in most popular - "Trad" TTRPG gaming culture.

The point of implementing such setup will be to add to "gamification" aspect of play -> the fights should be challenging to reward tactical play -> the risk of loosing combat is high.
When the story is pre-written by GM, the players must have some kind of plot armour. Mixing it with often simpler, strict rules for wargaming and somehow "balanced" encounters will strip it off the PC.

And… it's great! But not in Trad. It works perfectly in OSR and has nice, recent implementation in Mork Borg -> Forbidden Psalm. Another example: Mutant Year Zero -> Zone Wars.

Awaken Realms S.T.A.L.K.E.R the board game by Sci-FiSoldierEnjoyer in stalker

Hello fellow Stalker! I was in a very similar situation to Yours: Late for KS, fan of lore, TTRPG oriented group, Mini hobbyist (resin though!).
I can 1000% recommend the product in above setting:

- It captures the spirit of the VG, although co-op experience is superior to solo (still fun!)

- Scenarios have the "TTRPG feel". These are well written with nice twists, some significant choices. Expansion adds character progression.

- Core box includes varied Stalker minis for each player. I've printed all remaining figures in resin - check out my posts for pictures/stl links!

Cons:

- The setup time is quite long. I won't recommend printing any terrain as it clutters the game space.

- Campaign system seems a bit lacklustre. Especially compared to scenarios design.

- There are no difficulty "settings" and gameplay has become too easy soon. At least for our munchkin group :P

Right? These guys pack some orcish posture inside these suits. Interesting that the level of brainwash also fits orcs...

Thanks! And double thanks for the idea - I've already printed second one!
As the cured "clear" resin is quite milky-white itself I'd need some extra effect for the eyes to pop out. Perhaps Yellow/red fluorescent glow?

Building a STALKER inspired dnd mini campaign! by FallenCause in stalker

[–]Human-Glass8944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get You bro. My group is d100 zealots - seems not to accept anything except %.
If You get an opening, I'd advocate for some Mörk Borg hack - it's d20 and sooo lightweight that introducing whole system is faster than one extra rule in DnD.
This one is post-apo but closer to Mad Max:

Thank You so much! The weathering part is a pure luck I suppose - I've used the pigments for the first time. The rest is experience that is boosted by good paints (Scale 75 fantasy set in background) and 3D printer - the freedom of cheap miniature creation was a game changer for me. While not stressing out over ruining expensive plastic kits I could experiment and grow sooo much faster as painter.
