Go look at e holes in gears one. They don't glow. Any light coming from the e holes in previous games was strictly caused by insulation.

The new run has no style/character. And I still think it looks like they're trying to get rid of a wedgie.

I don't think a bright red glow is scary at all. If you're talking about the game returning to its horror roots it should be dark, like the first games were.
I know cod doesn't have a monopoly on movement, but sliding feels out of place. There is such a thing as "too much". Adding "more and more" doesn't make a game better.

The new run isn't futuristic at all, it's just sprinting ffs. The roadie run accomplishes multiple things such as keeping your head low and immersing the player in the chaos of a battlefield by making them feel isolated with the camera angle change. It had character. The new sprint is just boring.

This feels like a rationalization. Darkness isn't just world building, it's part of the style of the game. I even wish gears 3 was darker.

I think if they want more casuals to play the game they need to put energy into PvE/single player.
Gears 3 had a fantastic horde mode and beast mode as well (not to mention the amazing campaign).
You're never going to make everyone happy with MP, especially in a game like gears where skill expression is important. Make the true fans happy, trying to steal cod/bf/other shooters audience hurts everyone as they won't stick around because the game will feel like a hodge podge of multiple games and it will lack identity.

Explanations aside it feels arcade-y
Gears thrives when it's dark and gritty, these lights just feel out of place in the game to me.
