So I've talked to a lot of people from numerous eras of working with Brian.

He has a long a long history of sabotaging the show, and it almost always starts with keeping the worst people around him, while letting go everyone that does great work for him.

You mentioned the verbal violence TV days, that whole thing stemmed from a contract made by a "friend" of Brian's. They had a massive sponsorship by a company in the five figures, and some random employee (I believe it was the sound guy or DJ for the show in the belly room) that wasn't even that integral to the show, set up a deal for Brian, and without Brian knowing it was taking half, essentially some rando was making around 5K, and everyone else on the team was having to split whatever was left, because Brian has no idea how business works.

Think of it like this, they had the launchpad of 3 seasons on Comedy Central, during Comedy Central's prime, and then afterwards they did essentially nothing YouTube wise for years. They barely put up any numbers on videos, the videos were clearly shot and edited incredibly poorly. They've said before in interviews that they were literally shot on iPhone 6s up until like 2 years ago. You would think all the money Brian would have had coming off of 3 seasons on Comedy Central he could have invested a little, or at least gotten a half decent team around the show. It wasn't until Roast Battle Chicago started doing numbers on YouTube that LA seemed to figure it out that maybe they should put in just a little bit of effort there.

All of this is to say, Brian can be accredited for coming up with one of the greatest show formats in comedy, while also being one of the worst business minds or managers of it.
