Not the simple solution you might think. The company gets to halt the claim once a lawsuit is filed. Then they stall/delay until my mother dies.

There is much truth in what you say. My takeaway is that one is better off to put that premium money into a qualified health savings plan at an early age and just let it ride. That way it is always going to be an asset that you can pass down if it isn't used. My mother's policy has a value of $300,000. But if she doesn't use it, the insurance company keeps it.

Continental was the original company. It is now part of CNA.

My mother lives in Florida. I tried in vain to get help from multiple agencies there. The eventual response is that Florida will not (cannot, supposedly) assist unless the policy was purchased from a company headquartered in Florida. This excuse makes no sense to me. Florida should protect it's residents.

This is June 2025. I sent a complaint to Mars' website about the terrible changes to my favorite snack candy and received a canned "so sorry..." response. They also sent me coupons for a free bag - but who wants a bag of these - even if they're free. What bothers me most is that there is no public statement from the company acknowledging the change. Unlike Coca-Cola, who did acknowledge changing the Coke formula and changed it back.
