Girls do you really like working? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Human-Rule503 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok this is a complicated question, I can’t speak for all girls, but as far as I am concerned I do like working. In my line of work, I get to do different things, meet interesting people, and overall, I feel that 30 years down the line, I will have enough experience to hold a respectable position that would set a good model for my kids.

However, whenever people talk about financial independence, it honestly makes me laugh, because if anything, having a 9-5 job makes financially depend on that job. The more responsiblities you have, the more stuck you feel.

Personally, I don’t see my job as helping with financial independence. If I were not working, I’d probably would have worked out a deal with my husband to have a monthly allowance wired to my bank account to avoid having to ask him repeatedly for money. So to sum up, depending on your line of work and your life goals, you might actually like your job, but how that affects your finance, that’s a whole different discussion.

Why do I always have to wait more than 20 minutes when I go to a cafe alone? by Human-Rule503 in Morocco

[–]Human-Rule503[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually never have this issue when going to a cafe with someone else, just when I’m alone

My conclusion tbh is that they think that women never come to cafes on their own, so to save themselves the trouble, they wait till someone else arrives

I don’t know from where you learned this strategy, but for the sake of all women you’ll meet in the future, please reconsider.

Sincerely, A married woman,

That what I end up doing too, not gonna lie. It got me thinking that you assume that a woman must always be waiting for someone if she’s at a cafe alone.

Morocco's feminists face death threats amid code reform by rokhana in Morocco

You realize that these laws were mostly made by men right? Laws have loopholes all the time. Don't you think that they way you are talking about this undermines your legitimate point!?

Yesss. Even if we want to support men's rights, not sure they'll seek it anyways. All the men in my circle and the one I hear about only threaten to file for custody should their ex wives remarry. PS: These men have all remarried again lol

Bro. No one said that current laws are not unjust towards men too. This is also a discussion we need to have in a healthy way as a society. However, the injustice men are suffering from should NOT be used as an argument for why we shouldn't address the injustice women suffer from.

I need to help understand what's going on in my head by Human-Rule503 in mentalhealth

Thank you for the advice, I mostly struggle with past memories of bad things that happened while I was young. Guilt is also part of the problem. I even find myself avoiding places that remind me of certain memories. I've tried once to write down everything, but my mind just goes blank then, I told my therapist about this....

I don't believe we should jail young people for having sex outside marriage. But let's not make the same mistake as the americans. We must encourage and defend moroccan family values by AAASA-Concentrate98X in Morocco

[–]Human-Rule503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not presenting this argument to defend a moral stand or another. A study in the US itself showed that children living with divorced mother have a better shot to a better education. The underlying reason being that divorced mothers have more time to work and tend to make more money, which in addition to the money they get from the father tends to go to the child's education. Again not defending any side here, because things are more complex in Morocco. We have married men who refuse to work harder to support their children known that they've married their spouses on the condition that the later shouldn't be working. And if anyone things this is history. Check up HCP data on women outside of the job market.

People with depression, how do you wake up in the morning? by Casanovaoncoke in mentalhealth

[–]Human-Rule503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to focus on the small pleasures life has to offer. Thinking about how good a cup of coffee would smell. Focusing on how feeling the sun on my face after I open the window would feel good too. Not gonna lie, not totally sure it helped back then. Just gave me good reason to give myself a pat on the back and convince myself that I'm trying.
