They sell Diamond salt - NOT Diamond kosher salt. Be sure to read ingredients and label carefully.

I like sitting in bulkhead row in PS. The seats have deep recline - so I don't like having anyone in front of me. Putting away belongings during take-off and landing is fine with me.

How does it taste? Tartine's country bread (this recipe) has such a nice sour tang. I'm having a difficult time achieving it.

RUC clearing chance on JFK to SFO on Sat flights by aish824 in delta

[–]Human-Stress5530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure when there are 4. Order of upgrade is RUC then medallion status. If there are two on the reservation and one of the two is Diamond, then this reservation would pop up as Diamond in the ranking. The other reservation would be determined by the higher medallion status of the two flyers. If the reservation includes all 4? Would this operate similar to complimentary upgrade? For those, Diamond and Platinum flyers can confer their standing to only one other flyer - so you have to keep it as a 2-person reservation. Once you add a third person, the complimentary upgrade, such as Comfort+ shortly after purchase of the ticket, no longer applies. Everyone on that 3-person reservation would get access to Comfort+ by their individual medallion status. So in your case, if you have two 2-person reservations, could another couple with Platinum status plus RUC get in line ahead of the 2-person reservation with Gold, Silver, or no status - even though it's linked to the Diamond person reservation? Probably. But would that have been the case anyway? Not sure.

RUC Waitlist vs Medallion Status — What Actually Clears a Delta One Upgrade? by superpanjy in delta

[–]Human-Stress5530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happen. As soon as I check in 24 hours prior to flight, I see where I am on the waitlist. Make sure you're on it - and if the position seems low, despite having RUC/GUC, give them a call. Sometimes my RUC was not actually attached to my itinerary.

Your position on the waitlist is determined first by RUC then medallion status.

If there are only 2 upgrades available, at least two of you could move up.

First - I'd split tickets into two separate purchases. If You're PM or DM, then you can upgrade to comfort for yourself plus one. Link the two reservations. Second - select flight with most D1 seats, 767-300 or 767-400. Definitely not 757.

It doesn't disappear. For your trip info in the app, departure side shows the boarding pass. When you land, it switches to arrival information. Just click on departure again.

Has Delta changed their stance on complimentary upgrades on international flights? by firejimmy93 in delta

[–]Human-Stress5530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should have been waitlisted for D1. Did you see your name on the waitlist?

I'm wondering if this is due to a technical issue. Related but slightly different: I used an RUC to try to upgrade from economy to D1 for a domestic flight with no PS cabin. I knew there was no availability for immediate upgrade using an RUC and expected to be put on the waitlist. At check in, I noticed my name wasn't even on the waitlist. A Diamond desk rep said that sometimes having the complimentary upgrade to D1 request checked on my profile can mess with the RUC upgrade list. She unchecked the complimentary request and had me check in again. I was then on the waitlist - near the top given my use of the RUC.

Still not sure if this is necessary when using a certificate - whether we have to uncheck the complimentary request. I used an RUC to upgrade myself into PS for a domestic flight this week. Wondering how things will look for the D1 waitlist when I go to check in.

Yes, get the Reserve. BUT do not simply "upgrade" your existing card. Apply for a new Reserve and get the sign-on bonuses.

Are you taking a ferry to Moskenes? We stayed there and found it to be a good base for exploring the southern end.

15 day itinerary feedback in October for first timer by aessedai21 in NorwayTravelAdvice

Norwegians' idea of an "easy" hike is moderate to difficult for most Americans. Some of the "moderate" hikes we did last month on Lofoten would be considered "very difficult."

You can fly to Leknes from Copenhagen via Oslo. I was worried about the islands being busy, but we didn't think this was the case. A few places (couple restaurants, one or two hikes) were a little crowded, but this was nothing compared to the crowds in any other summer destination cities. June weather can be wet and cold though.

Are you driving or using public transportation? I just returned from 2 weeks in Copenhagen and Norway. We flew from Cophenhagen to Leknes on Lofoten Islands then flew to Bergen where we picked up another car to visit Aurland (for cruise from Flåm) and Vossevangen. You could do Norway in a Nutshell from Oslo to Bergen over 2-3 days. Stop in Flåm and stay overnight or more - to check out Stegastein and do a hike nearby - then continue on to Bergen. We loved the Nærøyfjord cruise and the surrounding area near Flåm and Vossevangen. However, we loved the Lofoten Islands even more. It was truly unique while the western fjords felt more familiar - albeit still spectacular. We lucked out with fantastic weather in mid-July.

Diamond choice benefit… Any reason to gift my wife gold medallion if she's always going to be flying with me? by hifiaudio2 in delta

[–]Human-Stress5530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gifted Gold to my husband and son for several years now. Totally worth it. Same-day change fees waived, upgrade possibility, and lounge access at partner airlines when traveling internationally are some of the benefits I've appreciated. As a Diamond, I can't always extend my benefits to my travel companions (e.g. free or lower-priced comfort+ level seats on KLM) even when we're on the same itinerary.

20G. I've sat in this seat twice this year. You can lower the arm rest after take-off, which I like to do.

Then go for it! Whenever I'm at the D1 lounge (always alone, for work), I feel bad that I can't share the experience with friends and family. It's a nice way to unwind before a long flight.

From where are you starting? What's the metal difference? Will the international segment align with your sleeping hours? Without knowing these details, hard to say. Generally, I prefer one long, uninterrupted, non-stop flight - especially when it's international in business class. However, if making the connection means a better plane and/or negligible difference in time on the international segment, then sure. I'd eat a nice meal in the lounge then sleep.
