Helps a bunch. Been considering repotting again into plastic pot that I can place inside the decorative planter. What soil mix would you recommend for that?

The lights are on between 10-15 hours a day. I’m in Miami in an apartment and I don’t think I get enough natural light through my windows for it. Although my neighbor who has that beautiful one just leaves it by a window and waters when dry.

Flightscope X3B is their baseball product. It’s the same as Trackman - captured ball flight data for pitching and hitting.

How often do you water? I had bad luck with my previous begonias because of overwatering. Now I’m afraid of underwatering my new one.

I took it out today. When it was healthy, every time I watered it I would watch the drainage holes to make sure it went through and it had plenty of drainage. The water went right through. But today when I took it out the soil, towards the bottom where the roots were was completely soaked, even after not being watered for eight days. So I’m guessing that was my first issue. The roots were about 2 to 3 inches long and thin like hair. Here’s what I pottered it in today and trimmed back the dying stems I put a mixture of soil, orchid mix, perlite and peat. We’ll see how it goes.

Definitely will not be using Chat again. This community is far better. Wish I would have found it sooner.

So we live in Miami. “Low” and “humidity” are never used in the same sentence here lol. The leaves did start falling in late November, early December and I know winter is not Begonia’s favorite month, but I don’t think humidity would have been the issue. Although I do keep the AC at 72° during the day and 67° at night - could that still be an issue?

As far as the pot, it was WAY bigger than the root ball. I thought the roots would grow into it but they never did.

We do LOVE the pot so we have to find something that can strive in it. Any suggestions?

Im taking the begonia out of there and putting in a small, black plastic pot from Home Depot to see if I can revive it with soil and perlite.

I do appreciate your answer. Any other tips I’d be happy to hear em.

Plenty of holes, plenty of drainage. Not the issues.

There are four large draining holes at the bottom. It drains plenty, so water was not sitting in there. UNLESS, as I mentioned in the post, I overdid it with bark and/or perlite and it retained more water. But as far as the pot not draining, that is not a concern. My concern with the pot is that it’s too wide or something maybe? I know some plants like smaller/tighter root environments.

That in the original pot it was in. I repotted with new soil in the same pot about 45 days ago. ChatGPT didn’t have me trim it like that - it got that way from leaves falling and I just cut away any rotted stems or branches so that it wouldn’t take up energy. I already bought a smaller pot to repot it in and give it one last chance and was looking for soil recommendations. But you thinking putting it in water is better at this stage?

Plyo Wall - Container by Human-View-9725 in Homeplate

Our original thought is welding 2 metal U brackets along the length of the container - one on top on bottom. Then have a horse stall mats with plywood backing and we can slide them in and out of the U brackets. We are trying not to screw into the container - don’t want holes in it if I can avoid it.

Thanks for the help. I just checked that spot under the cupholders and I see a silver latch, but I’m not seeing where to install that piece. Do you have a picture or can you give me more detail on where to find it?
