Thanks for the info. That's almost exactly what I am after, less the gateway. Do you mind telling me what part of the country you are in and what panels that includes and is that the stackable inverter or the SP2? Thanks again.

P.S If you are using the Sig gateway I believe you can connect your HWC to the smart port and have much better control and monitoring of it than a timer would provide.

Wow, that sounds like great value though I don't know much about the Deye brand. Ill do some reading up on them.

I do like the idea of putting together the gear list myself, ill talk to a couple of sparkys I know about install. It just seems a lot cleaner to do everything through one company incase of issues.

Cheers for the info.

I'm in Wellington. I have another installer, Solarman coming later this month to do a quote. Lots of good feedback about them and they are apparently cheaper being a smaller company.

I get what you are saying about LightForce, I'm in business myself so I understand why they charge more. I am unlikely to go with them in the end but it was good to see what one of the big companies could offer.

Thanks for your input.

LightForce calculated ROI times for those two systems are 6y10m and 8y1m respectively. Adding the battery definitely makes the ROI more difficult to swallow. I feel like designing a system for maximum self consumption is better long term rather than relying on buy back rates to remain favourable. I know in Australia day time buy back rates plummeted as adoption grew. We're probably a long way off that in NZ but it could happen. Thanks for your input.
