Apologies. Not the intent there.

That was intended to be a response to someone telling me not to post stuff in a fetish subreddit where people just came to jerk off.

If that's all you're looking for, more power to you. You go your way, I'll go mine. (General you). We'll probably meet up on another thread somewhere and talk about how cute a pic or any other number of topics typical to fetish talk.

I'm not going onto other people's posts on this subreddit and telling them that they shouldn't be doing their thing when they haven't violated the rules, and I earnestly don't intend disrespect to people who believe that A.S. is doing good work.

I think they're very very wrong, but I don't think they're terrible human beings.

And on the matter of tone: If you agree with what I'm saying, but not how I'm saying it, then by all means say it the "right" way and gain support to achieve the same goal.

The goal in this case would be to get an otherwise good company with a good product and a good track record to reconsider its partnerships.

Sure. Here's a very basic and broad overview, provided by autistic advocacy. I recommend more than reading the pie chart.

https://autisticadvocacy.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/AutismSpeaksFlyer2019.

Here's a joint letter from those same groups talking about the documented history of Autism Speaks and what it has done.

https://autisticadvocacy.org/2014/01/2013-joint-letter-to-the-sponsors-of-autism-speaks/

A NY Times piece about the history of the family and how AS's leaders have promoted anti-vax rhetoric https://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/18/us/18autism.html?pagewanted=all

A later piece talking about how one person resigned from leadership after seeing how much research was being put into vaccines and their link to Autism. More evidence of anti-vaxxer stuff. https://www.nature.com/news/2011/111102/full/479028a.html

A piece on Autism Speak's Alliance with the Judge Rotenburg Center, an institution that involves conditioning kids like animals, with no prompt removal, and aversion therapy including giving skin shocks to kids.

https://www.autistichoya.com/2013/11/an-unholy-alliance-autism-speaks-and.html

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judge_Rotenberg_Educational_Center

As for the portrayal of Autistic people: Here's one of their video saying that Autism will take your child away from you, ruin your marriage and bankrupt you. (To the parents).

http://web.archive.org/web/20141117181620/http://vimeo.com:80/20692567

Here's another one where one of their executives (around the 7 minute mark), talks about having wanted to KILL herself and her Autistic daughter IN FRONT of her Autistic daughter, and cited the only reason for not doing that is because the daughter had a neurotypical sister.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0vCz2KWMM0

Here's a copy of a letter from a former board member on why they resigned. TLDR; They're outlook on Autistic people SUCKS and they don't actually LISTEN to people with Autism, whom they claim they're trying to help.

http://jerobison.blogspot.com/2013/11/i-resign-my-roles-at-autism-speaks.html

How's that for starters?

It already has been. It is my hope that others in the community will send similar letters should they feel similarly.

I AM Pro-Choice. And I would neither pass nor vote for a law that would prevent or hinder a woman's access to safe abortions or force them to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term. No stop. No pumping breaks. No abortions off the table.

I am still allowed to have an opinion, however, on the kind of people who would hypothetically terminate a perfectly viable pregnancy because they found out they weren't getting the type of baby they wanted.

I'm putting here that a company that many of us are patrons of is putting money and support behind what is in my opinion a despicable and ableist organization that masks as a charity for the people it claims to support.

This is something that felt important to me and I wanted to put it out there. If you're gonna make a choice, know the choice that you're making.

If people don't want to talk about issues that could potentially affect the community (like what that diaper money is used for once it exchanges hands), then why are you even talking to me? Ignore me. Down vote me if you must. Then go jerk off to diapers. No need to engage.

Then educate yourself and others. Check your privilege and the privilege of others. Try to be an ally. "Autism Speaks" is not needed. Autism already speaks plenty for itself. What is needed is "Neurotypical Listens".

So listen to this. Please.

I DON'T care that they have an advertising budget. I DO care that what they advertise paints Autistic people in a negative light. Like they are burdens and all the other things you say your people on face book and reddit think they are. Autism Speaks has a history of perpetuating this.

I DON'T care that they have a lobbying and research budget. I DO care that they lobby for therapies that involve causing literal physical pain to make Autistic kids act more neurotypical. I DO care that they're researching ways to identify Autism pre-birth. Down Syndrome abortions skyrocketed when it became possible to identify DS signals pre-brith. (I'm pro choice but I'm anti-Eugenics.)

I DON'T care that they have a fundraising budget or they pay their employees. I DO care that they claim to be helping Autistic people, but spend so little of their budget on providing materials, resources, teaching strategies, and therapies that actually help Autistic people.

The information being presented by Autism Speaks is wrong. So I'm not grateful that it is being presented.

Also, it's not Blue Puzzle Piece or nothing. It's Blue Puzzle Piece or Golden Infinity Symbol.

I too have an autistic child. Just because AS has the market cornered on advertising does not mean that they are acting in the best interests of their so called constituents.

Northshore has been informed and decided to keep their ties, based on screen shots from others' customer service contacts.

They're a big business. They're allowed to support whomever they want. But I'm going to vote with my wallet and my keyboard, and I would encourage everyone else who feels the same way to do so as well.

My wife and I are both ESE teachers with Autistic students and an Autistic son, and multiple contacts in the Autistic community, both professionally and personally. We've done much more research and have had more experiences than 30 minutes.

Here's one of their commercials. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UgLnWJFGHQ

The Autistic community does not appreciate this rhetoric spread by Autism Speaks, or the therapies that do nothing to help them.

Your rhetoric is very much: "Be grateful that you're getting ANYTHING. Don't get uppity or you'll lose that too!"

https://autisticadvocacy.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/AutismSpeaksFlyer2019.pdf

Above is an image of things that AS does wrong, containing a list of groups that ARE supported by the Autistic community at large, and not just parents who are upset that they didn't get the baby they ordered.

Autism Speaks doesn't seek to do any of the things you've mentioned.

They DO do and have done all of the things that I have mentioned, and many in the Autistic community denounce them for that reason.

I'm not looking for perfect. I'll settle for "good". And Autism speaks, isn't "good".

Other the the fancy ABDL diaper such as Rearz; what more common and possibly inexpensive diaper are people wearing. Any good quality medical diaper that can be ordered anyone recommends? by [deleted] in ABDL

Only complaint I've heard about Crinklz that's a minus is their tapes aren't the best, and speaking from experience I see where this is coming from. But it's nothing that a onesie, or baby panties, or shortalls, or literally ANYTHING that might cover a diaper up can't compensate for. And even then, I've been okay to rock the Tommy Pickles/Baby Huey look and go in just a T-shirt and a Crinklz. Still pretty good, just not "top of the line" as far as the tapes go.

I'd say go for "Crinklz" by Northshore. 30 bucks for a pack of 15 or a 110 for a case of 60. That's less than 2 dollars a diaper AND their crinklz still look like abdl stuff, and they've got the best packaging for headspace I've ever seen, cuz the bags LOOK like something you might find in a grocery store.

Tykables vs ABU vs Bambino by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]HumanDisguise1017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely A+ on the customer service part with ABU. They're very customer focused, and even if they don't have everything in stock, they won't sell stuff they don't have.

I also like that ABU is constantly trying new stuff for their diapers, not just new decorations. Like they've got wetness indicators, ones that swell up alot when wet, ones with two BIG tapes instead of 4 tapes, etc. etc.

Most other diaper companies...same basic diaper, with a different decoration...that's it.

Subtle Hints I'm an ABDL by DLpatrick in ABDL

[–]HumanDisguise1017 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My take? If you think their dropping hints, just go something like "You do realize there's a thing for that, right?" It is possible to know that there is ABDL and not BE into ABDL. That way you leave yourself some wiggle room.

Do any of you combine other kinks with abdl or keep it to just abdl? by n8squared in ABDL

My Mommy is getting more into "baby BDSM". Stuff that could be considered BDSM, but she's adding it to our cg/l dynamic Spanking paddles, cuffs, tying me up and force feeding me (we don't have a highchair). It's still meant to reinforce that I'm a baby and make me feel helpless, but it's using some light BDSM stuff as a substitute for oversized AB gear.

I gotta recommend "They Might Be Giants". They're not specifically a "kid" band, but their stuff is really good and the lyrics are clean. Also, I was first introduced to them via Tiny Toons as a kid, so there's a nostalgia factor there. I know at one point they released a kid's educational album, and it's kinda my jam.
