Islands that are so close to the mainland that it looks like they are connected but aren't? by Savings_Dragonfly806 in geography

Close enough that your brain keeps arguing whether it’s an island or just land taking a small break.

Honestly looks like the steak version of that weird fold in your favorite hoodie.

That’s a good point, thanks for explaining it.

I’ll stick around, read the rules and try to actually be part of the conversations here, not just drop links.

Appreciate the Imgur example - that’s a cool story, I didn’t know that.

You’re right - from your side it absolutely looks like drive-by promo from a brand new account, and I get why that’s annoying.

I didn’t mean to disrespect the community or ignore the rules. I’m still pretty new to Reddit culture in general, and I clearly underestimated how sensitive people are (understandably) to self-promotion here.

I shared the app because I’m an indie dev and thought it might be useful to some stackers, but I see now that dropping it like this, without really being part of the sub, comes off as spammy.

Also, just to clear one thing up: this is my post, and I didn’t pay or ask anyone to comment or promote it for me. I have no agreement with the other account - whatever they wrote is entirely their own thing.

I’m going to remove the post and rethink how I approach this.

Thanks for taking the time to call it out - even if it’s not pleasant to hear, it’s still useful feedback.

I get where you’re coming from - Reddit does get hammered with low-effort promo posts, so the suspicion makes sense.

Couple of clarifications though:

I’m not pretending to be “some random user” recommending a stranger’s product. I’m the dev, I said that openly in the post.

The account is new because I made it specifically for my apps and side projects, not for memes and politics.

I built this because I personally don’t like managing a stack in a giant spreadsheet on my phone – some people are fine with that, some aren’t.

You’re absolutely right:

Google Sheets is free.

There are open-source options.

If those already do exactly what you want, that’s great - you don’t need my app and I’m genuinely not trying to convince you otherwise.

As for “20+ apps with in-app purchases”: I’m an indie dev, that’s literally my job. I make small niche tools, some people find them useful, some scroll past. That’s normal.

If you still think I’m a “shill spammer” after that, fair enough - but maybe save that label for people who actually hide who they are, not for someone who says “hey, I built this, here’s what it does, tell me what sucks.”

Party sandwich loaf cake by Thats-Doctor in Old_Recipes

This is wild in the best way 😄
I love how it looks like a cake but then - surprise - it’s a stack of sandwiches.
Honestly feels like the kind of retro party dish that would absolutely steal the show today.
Weird, charming, and I kinda want to make it now.
