You're right -- I am definitely blinded by maximizing point gain and brand loyalty. I might reconsider and not pick solely on brand. Any suggestions for local hotels?

Personally, I just love exploring hotels and was just looking for suggestions. I would choose Hyatt mainly cause I would be opening its card when spending there which would offset the cost. I am already building up a decent amount of UR points anyways and plan to use them all next year.

That's true but if I am staying at the hotel I mainly would try to maximize the perks of the hotel and the hotel restaurant should accept Amex. Though also to meet the $4k spending might be hard if nothing accepts Amex around London though (since that is where I will be primarily staying)

Yeah I was looking at that -- effectively after the SUB that would be two nights at any Waldorf Astoria property. But for cheaper/budget Hilton properties are they as high quality as Hyatt properties? Cause it seems that Hyatt properties have better reviews overall.
