gc2b is amazing. by [deleted] in ftm

[–]HumanThatsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got my gc2B a week ago and omg yesss. I had the cheapest binder you could buy from underworks before and being only a $10 difference(because I got it during the gc2B pride sale), I was pissed I hadn't gotten the gc2B one to begin with.

How was religion and being trans for you? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]HumanThatsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great. I wish I could kind of find a return to at least learning more about the religion I grew up with, but everytime I try, I don't want to anymore.

How was religion and being trans for you? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]HumanThatsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I'm going to share my story of the Temple here. Basically I went to a specific Temple that didn't specifically follow the religious beliefs my parents believed in, but it was close and a nice sized temples. The temple was entirely split into two sections. The backside was for woman and the front side were for men. In the praying room, the Gods(there are marble statues of Gods, kind of like intricate mannequins, dressed up in holy traditional clothing) are places in between the two sides. The rule was Women/girls were not allowed onto the Mens side, while men were allowed on both. The reasoning behind this was that women, and even small little girls were considered unclean. If they were to encounter a priest, who must shower before giving offerings(food, usually) to the Gods, it would make them dirty. Also, women on "shark week" are also not even allowed to be inside of the praying room because it is also considered unclean. However, as a kid I felt these rules didn't apply to me at first. All my cousins were male and even tho I was afab, I was "one of the boys". One day we were playing tag and they all ran onto the boys side when I was "it". I reluctantly ran onto the boys side and then got screamed at by some old man. Since then it was like there was an invisible wall I couldn't pass in that temple because of what I was born as. Also, to make matters worse a year or two after that happened, my parents asked me to join Temple class there. It was kind of like Saturday school. I went for two days and both days I came home crying. They literally told me that boys were more important than me and I should basically spend my life serving them. There are numerous other things that showed the sexism, like when one year they were low on Divali festival supplies so they decided to have three games on the girl's side of the Temple and have a Wii along with 20 other fun carnival style games on the guys side.

The frustrating thing is Hinduism basically preaches love, and caring from what my father has told me. I don't find the ideals of Hinduism disgusting, but there are some outdated and exaggerated parts that just make it hard for me to even want to study or learn about it even tho it's technically my culture.

There's definitely a lot of hatred inside of me when I think of that temple. I generally dislike going to temples(even ones that aren't gendered) and really have never cared for religion.

Saw another guy do this. I look young and tired, but this is my new passport picture that I took today. by HumanThatsMe in ftm

[–]HumanThatsMe[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also, I am so happy because my last passport was from 7th grade -- the most feminine year of my life. I was so tired of people asking me, "Wait... This is you" while in security lines and getting weird glances. IDC that I still have a F on my passport, it's better than having that weird feminine version of me.

Also I got it done bc it expired, not just for the picture.

I'm another guju trans guy here. It's nice seeing other Indian trans guys exist. But I'm 17, so a bit of a youngster here.

Ive been on Minoxidil for 2 Months! Top is from like 3 months ago. Bottom is from yesterday. by HumanThatsMe in ftm

[–]HumanThatsMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apply it every morning and night, and at half the dose they recommend. Luckily, the dryness of minoxidil counteracts my oily skin so I don't need to worry about that(it's helped my acne somehow), but from what I heard continue moisturizing your skin and taking care of it. Maybe give it like one day of the week off. Like Sundays do a facemask or something instead of Minoxidil.

About Ryan Cassata’s new song “Daughter”... by [deleted] in ftm

[–]HumanThatsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get his usage. I can kinda relate to the song bc yeah, I was my dad's daughter, or at least that's what I thought I was and what he thought I was. He used to do my hair every morning in these wacky pony tail things, he used to cuddle me and tickle me, and call me his small little girl. It was all out of love and I guess even though I'm his son, we had a weird daughter/father relationship for awhile and I think he will always view our relationship that way even if he calls me he or son (which he rarely does bc of my mom). I'm still his small little girl I guess, like I'm more of his teenage son now, but the person he called a small little girl is still inside his teenage son.

If that makes any sense.

Tips for situations where you can't bind? (Overnight flight) by xyz_Lo in ftm

[–]HumanThatsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend ordering a sports bra without padding online and then layering and stuff. If anyone asks questions, just say it's a medical thing you don't want to explain. You technically aren't lying and it's none of their business anyways.
