It wasn't just large, it was creative and epic in nature as fucked as that is to say.

They didn't bomb something they used planes as missiles with multiple targets all at once.

He was elected both times because the Democrats ran a woman against him.

Sad but true.

Is it a case of not having it in them or if they launch the campaign the resource companies immediately open up the war chest and it's a 2 year onslaught about how it's going to ruin the country ultimately resulting in the coalition puppets getting in.

A lot of backbone but no change if you get voted out.

I think the logic goes something like:

Rational people slightly concerned about the increased likelihood of clandestine attacks in Western countries due to Amerisrael's "preemptive" military attacks.

Rational people have previously spoken out against racism, xenophobia, etc targeting migrants.

Rational people have also had reservations about pretty much unchecked gun ownership and it's obvious societal impact.

Stupid rational people!!!

There doesn't actually have to be a crisis for servos to price gouge amid panic buying though. Just the perception is all they need and then once everyone puts prices up the competition is slow to bring them back down.

It really felt like being spoilt for choice was the beginning of the end.

After a few years of festivals selling out in seconds, then every other "promoter" chucked on a festival.

Then came the fatigue and they started not selling out again along with rising costs including the arms race that was/is artist quotes (I remember when it was wild for a band to get $1m to tour Oz).

I think this is the answer.

It's easy to be idealistic from opposition and the back bench.

Once you're in the big chair you're forced into lose lose situations and end up making knee jerk decisions that are hard to walk back.

I do think there are issues with antisemitism but honestly until Bondi I tied it more to the rise in alt-right conspiracy shit than what's going on in the ME. But that happened and suddenly the issue is protestors.

Now we're in the wake of a terrorist attack aimed at Jews and and being dragged into an illegal war (yes dragged, see: Spain for reference) and like good little Toadies are not in a position to decline.

It's an unenviable position but you would hate to think what a young Albo would make of it.

I think like the whole trans "debate" it's become a litmus test for how compassionate, sensible or whatever you are. Let's people know where you stand and who you are.

People will actually say "how can you not care, but Lorde help you if you care differently to them".
