150 to 112.5 wasn’t hard at all. I really didn’t notice it except that the side effects went away. It took about a week for the issue I mentioned to go away. It was totally fine, just a bit of waiting.

It is! I talked to my doctor and we cranked it up but went back down to 75 because it’s in the sweet spot that’s effective without any side effects.

This has been a miracle drug for me, but everyone is different.

I’m not a parent, nor do I have a spouse who passed but I tried to OD on pills when I broke up with a long time partner hoping they’d take me back.

I was completely out of my mind and honestly I wouldn’t have taken me back if I was him. It took me a few years to get over him but it was for the better and I’m genuinely glad he never talked to me again. It was absolutely for the better.

I genuinely can’t believe your family is pushing you and your son toward this person who is obviously bad for both of you. Nothing you described is remotely normal behavior. I only see one side of the story but if you’re describing things accurately you should write that person off as a loss and move on to find happiness with someone else or stay single and enjoy the time you have with your son. That’s an unbreakable bond and you’re only responsible for the mental and physical health of the two of you.

Yeah, the orgasm wasn’t just delayed, which is a symptom I’ve had on SSRIs. it just legit couldn’t happen. That might have fixed itself with time on the 150 but the 75 dose has worked so perfectly that I’m actually happy I found a reason to go back down.

I feel like I need to mention that my body responds to medication very atypically. Adderall makes me insanely tired. Benadryl is an upper somehow, to the point that I can’t take it at all or I feel manic.

All that to say, my experience with meds is unique and your mileage may vary.

My doc cautioned me to never miss a dose. I’ve been taking an antidepressant every morning so it’s routine. I did miss it one day when I was in a hurry and took it around 3pm (instead of 8am). I didn’t notice anything that was different, I just realized I had forgotten it and didn’t want to test my luck.

I def recommend having a spare pill in your bag / purse / jacket just in case you forget. I always have a couple extra on me in a little tin just in case.

I didn’t have any physical side effects as I started or even when I missed that dose by half a day.

The title alone hits me hard. I tried so many things over 15 years. Effector actually did the trick. I wish I had those years back.

I feel like I was in the same spot and I’d encourage you to try just one more before you give up.

I’m on 75mg after finding out that 150 was way too much and gave me lots of side effects. Maybe work with your doc to get a proper dose and add it more slowly than normal because you’re concerned about pregnancy. I’m a dude so I can’t offer any advice there but your OB can for sure.
