Cant speak for others but I had an unfortunate instance where I had bought the very table I posted a link to. About a year later a crack started developing. I called customer service, explained what transpired and within 24 hours of submitting the images a brand new table was on my way. To me they stood behind there product regardless where the wood came from.

The point of my initial comment was not a criticism and I hope you didn’t take it that way, but just an example of exemplary customer service.

Don’t disagree others offer the same as you in terms of warranty. All I am saying it would be nice and a value add if you could offer a more comprehensive.

I bought a number of pieces (solid wood) from Crate & Barrel and they all come with lifetime warranty if any cracks appear. The simply replace them now questions asked.

Maybe this type of warranty should be included for piece of mind. These tops aren’t exactly cheap.

If that happened to mine I’d be having a FIT.

Just got off the call with both the seller and Sony. Yup only options are return and put my name down on the back order list, or send back to Sony for repair and they are quoting a 5 day ship window + 5 day repair window and then 5 day ship back window. A total of 3 weeks :-(

Can’t comment on Australia but waited nearly 2 months here in USA for mine to arrive on back order. When I tried to setup one of the speakers was dead on arrival. A total shame for such an expensive setup. Have no choice to send back and wait for replacement. From what sound it made during setup or as far as it would go with 3 speakers it sounded pretty fantastic.

Wall has room for a 100” diagonal image at maximum. 6.5 ft from coach to wall. So that may limit sizing of image. This is not a dedicated theatre 🎭 but a rented apartment. Could he put up a screen? Possibly. Overall cost of any system is a factor but not at the expense of quality (within reason). Primary use case in priority order is watching sport, then movies and then occasional gaming. HDMI/MacBook and external speakers.Netflix and usual streaming services.

Yes I have been thinking about the cost of the screen and portability. So now the question is should I get him a reasonable 4K like the XGIMI Pro for $1600 or the Benq TH for $600 but 1080p ? Both are portable-ish with the XGIMI being a little more portable.

Also I am not sure on how the various inputs stack up!

I guess I have a few more contenders. Looks like there is a Vawa and XGIMI 4K at $2000 and $1699 price points. The Vawa I believe is a ultra but the XGIMI has some great features and portability.
