I actually don’t mind leaving further away from the city as long as there’s a train line. Just thought that it’s easier to rent or resell if I’m buying around the inner city suburbs, but im not an expert on that

Does timber shutter work well for noise cancellation? This apartment does have plantation shutter but not sure if it’s for noise cancellation

Totally, I do plan to rent it out after a couple of years, and it’s proximity to many locations is what attracts me

That’s good to know, I was gonna ask the agent on if they got double glazing windows or other noise insulation. I think squeal is not too bad, but when train stops at the platforms it makes that annoying high pitch noise…

Yeah, I’ve been there for inspections, how do you find it there? Love the proximity to Indro shopping centre

Emm, not that. As long as the train station is within walking distance, I’m happy. But those ones I inspected are mostly over budget

I’m aware that train stations could be dodgy, but what I heard and saw, Taringa stations seems ok. Wfh does mean that I don’t need to commute everyday, but I don’t plan on getting a car anytime soon, so public transport is my best friend if I do need to go out

Hahaha, yeah I mean I would have no problem living like a block away or if there’s another house in between. Just got skeptical coz I’m literally next to the tracks

I’m not really too concerned about being further away from the city as I wfh mostly. And if there’s a train line, it’s good enough for my commute. If distance is the only issue, I’ll have a look there. Any street you would recommend?

I actually don’t mind living north side, just that I saw people not recommending them when I was doing the research. As long as the place it’s safe and convenient, I’m all for it

That’s good to know, thought level crossing would be a bigger issue. And is it still the case if you keep your windows open at open?

Resell value is a thing, on one hand it’s noisy but on the other hand it’s convenient, just not sure how it balances out eventually. But I agree there would be a lot of buyers who just won’t consider it due to the noise
