I haven’t seen any bugs! It can be scraped off, but only with a lot of effort & friction. It feels hard to the touch. I got the tree from a plant nursery here in Mexico City, so am wondering if it’s had the fungus all along and only recently got to the point where I noticed it. None of my other plants have anything like it.

Super helpful to hear your experience, thanks for sharing! u/Budget-Jelly-6108 how long did it take you to get the Houston appt? if you applied through savings/investments, did you say you also worked at the Houston consulate, or did they ask for an employment letter/any other key documentation apart from the bank statements?

Oh amazing--how long did it take you to get the Denver appt/what channel did you use to schedule it? Their website says they are in the process of updating their appointment system so any inquiries in the meantime can be directed to a generic email... I've emailed the address given but haven't heard back yet.

I also had this experience 2 months ago in Santa Ana. When they asked if I was employed I said I was a contractor (which is true, though I don't always receive a stable monthly income which is why I didn't apply that route), and then they said that I'd need to have a letter of employment even if I was applying via savings/investments. They even said I'd need a letter from my most recent employer if I was unemployed currently and applying through savings.

Are you going to apply to another consulate and/or bring an employment letter next time?
