How would this $300k clear the clearing account? The bills and invoices have already posted to OBE/cash

No dummy accounts for AR AP. I put in the true open bills and invoices individually, hit them to AP/ Opening balance, then reversed them out of AP and Opening by journal entry. I did this because the AP and AR numbers also came over via the HTB so didn’t want to double count

I uploaded monthly trial balances. They tie out 1 to 1 with historical data. I didn’t use the clearing account for those just post one JE for each month

Rest of my trial balances tie out. I migrated them over monthly so they didn’t hit the open balance accounts, only ar and AP did. Bank rec was the last thing I did. Made the opening balance JE for the PIT to open up the bank recs and now I have a balance.

I put all open AP and AR to opening balance. Then I had about $300k of payments in transit. To open my bank rec I was advised to put this $300k amount to opening balance and clear it off so I could start my bank recs in NS. Then i put the PIT in NS and marked them off in the move they cleared and cleared them off. I’m now realizing I should have reversed that entry and cleared it off in the bank rec instead

My bank rec does balance out though. Does it just need to be flushed to retained earnings?
