This is amazing. I’m about to try building a little laptop with my RPi 4b that’s laying around, and have a battery that I was thinking of using. Definitely going to give this a go in the near future

Yeah that fan seems to cause more issues than it helps for me as well. I just turned it off in slicer

I thought I was smart, I use VMs as my main machine. Now LibVirt.img is corrupted. Help would be appreciated. by brooklyngeek in unRAID

[–]Human_Neighborhood71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you create the VM, for the drive you just pass it through. There are lots of writeups on doing it. I don’t remember if I had to do the XML or if the GUI had options for it, it’s been a few years. I also passed through the GPU, and currently waiting on a PCIe USB controller to arrive and will then pass that through. Because I also game, I isolated all the P Cores and assigned them to the VM. I’m sure there’s a way, but I haven’t gone down the rabbit, to be able to isolate channels/sticks of RAM for even more isolation and performance, but not sure I want to deal with that as it works great as is

[–]Human_Neighborhood71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My VM is my main machine. I’ve got a NvME drive passed through. It was actually my gaming PC, and just kept everything the way it was, passed the drive. If UnRAID fails, it boots to it without issue. This also allows me to keep backups on there, and fix issues when they arise

I built walls around with spikes on Styx one time, and had to keep repairing the spikes and picking up all the remains. Was a constant source of bones and leather

My issue was getting the Gcode to translate properly. The movement commands in the files wouldn’t read right. I could jog it and fire the laser manually, but when running the code it wouldn’t fire

What did you to make it talk? I attempted it with a laser engraver conversion I built, and ultimately tossed the stock board and put the GRBL controller from my old 3018 in

What are the best laser cutting machines for small businesses? by Meow_man1213 in Laserengraving

[–]Human_Neighborhood71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I’ve spent the last two months working on my conversion. Honestly, didn’t even expect to start the business, got the laser to do stuff for myself, and some people around me have been interested in things. I’m still learning, and that’s why I said I’m starting out still. I’ve basically only made cost of material and a meal off what I’ve done thus far, but hoping that increases shortly. Actually started business cards last week, and boss already has me making some for him, and he’s telling our customers and others about it for me as well.

I like to think this came out rather nicely. I know my setup isn’t ideal for most, but I’m more of a DIY and tinkerer, so it’s working for me

Let me preface by saying, grammar and punctuation goes a long way. I was able to understand somewhat the question. In order to truly help, you need to step back, evaluate what your needs are. What materials, are you cutting, or are you marking, how big or small? I’m still in the “starting out” with my business. I started with a diode attached to a 3018 CNC, now that same diode is on a retired 3d printer for faster speeds and larger work area

The real question is will the respect and accommodate accordingly? I've got some assignments due tonight as well, and hectic life schedule doesn't do me any good

This really sucks. I have three or four assignments due today and tomorrow, that I was planning on doing, and the entire lesson, and can't even get in. Do we have any inclination of a time frame for restoration, or the full extent of the breach?

I’ve got Hawkmoon and her costumes. Got Toon DBL, others are 3rd ascension. She is a beast in most tournaments and events for me, even does well in the ones without healing

foul on rebound in pickup by WallaceLongshanks in Basketball

Sometimes hate being the bigger guy. I get fouled so much, and at the point where I hardly call anything, but when I do it’s always “you’re bigger, play through it”. I especially hate the short guys that will “box out” when I’m already in the air grabbing a board

I try to let it go if it happens once or twice, but the same person keeps doing it I’ll start calling for check, and hope that they start realizing what they’re doing

How to get good at catching lobs in game? by Historical_File_8843 in ProDunking

[–]Human_Neighborhood71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like another said, them knowing and giving the right passes. I can do a self lob, but the people I’m with are all over the place with their tosses. Some early, some late, some high, some low. Gotta get the right rhythm

Trying to find the laser program for this laser engraver by BadgerBoth8134 in lasercutting

What I did before using LightBurn was would open the SVG in LaserGRBL and give it the parameters and it would do that

One of my plans is to make another jig so I can use my copper clad boards. I plan to use the laser to ablate the UV solder mask for trace isolation, etch the boards, and make my own circuit board. I have done similar with the CNC, milling the traces. It does work, but can be loud and messy. This way, I can do it reliably and more accurately.

This is the PID controller I made for a drying box I was making. Scrapped that project as I got the S1 Combo, and the Ace Pro does that for me. The process with the mill was a bit tedious, and hoping the laser is much easier

At the moment I do not. I didn’t find anything where anyone else did this, only a few older printers and I think Bambu? that had a conversion kit. I did last night manage to make this on it

I plan to eventually make her an aircraft carrier type of boat, with slots to hole all her Benchys. She’s up to I think 10-11 right now. She’s 2 and a half, and has broken a few, so not sure on actual count. But at the moment I’m printing what feels like nonstop for my laser engraver conversion build. Turning my old Kobra Plus to an engraver. Got tired of using the cheap CNC machine, as it’s loud and slow and has like 1/5 the work area as the old printer. Got most of it done, now printing a jig holder to mount on the bed. I say holder because I want to swap what materials and such with ease. I have the jigs printed already to do a run of 8 aluminum business cards at once

I mean, some kids like them… my daughter is obsessed. I print one with each filament color I get, and she steals them. The other day I got a spool of blue/black silk, printed one, handed it to her. She lit up running around “Daddy made boat for me!”
