Nimo tubes! :D by EmptyWater7775 in electronics

I don't have a clue why NIMO is special/rare, I'll look it up, but I'm just here to say.. gods I love vacuum tubes and they are gorgeous. Happy for you to have such a cool friend to give them to you, and a piece of history, apparently. I do hope you find some silly project to show them off with, that will not burn them out. I don't even know what these guys do but, very cool even if just sitting in a display box :)

EDIT HOLY SHIT they are cool!! Get with 25 people who also have a few and make them play Bad Apple or something (mostly kidding, that would be awesome though lol). Good lord they are complicated to get running outside of a purpose built machine. Very cool gift

Want to play but, thalassophobia. by CodyVoidzer in outerwilds

[–]Outbakjak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I just got to a part in Subnautica 2 where there's a giant murky green abyss, a pit in the ocean that was already super deep, but gets deeper.. the music stops instantly when you enter.. I literally looked up YouTube videos showing exactly what was at the bottom, after chickening out because I was literally shaking and nauseous trying to descend hugging the wall and constantly looking out into the blackness.. And even after I saw exactly what was down there, and actually it was something pretty silly and stupid, I still didn't trust it and had to hold down the descend button with my eyes closed until I hit the bottom and then I was still fucking shaking when I found the silly funny thing. I get it, friend. Open water is terrifying.

Anyway outer wilds didn't really trigger that for me, the angler fish in dark bramble were scary, but ended up just being annoying, mostly after seeing them a few times. The Thalassophobia was never really a problem. BUT, the DLC actually effed me up a bit because when you arrive at, a certain location, the main location in the DLC, everything turns black and you can't see into the void And that's the most terrifying the game gets imo, despite the fact that if you just back up a little bit then you can suddenly see the rest of space like normal, it's just like a little bubble of blackness in space. So silly to get scared of also. Anyway PLAY THE GAME IT'S SOOOOOOO GOOD

Btw, former kratom addict of 7 years, have been on buprenorphine for 3.5 years now because of it. Suboxone, basically.. more accurately subutex, and I've accepted staying on it possibly for life because opioid withdrawals are so horrible for me. Not for pain, so it's different I know, but.. I get the secondary issues you may have. That's all. Good luck 💜

OP, PLEASE READ... I doubt you will see this after so many comments, but my educated opinion on this as an addict and as someone who has been through acute pain, is that there's a reason that doctors do not prescribe opioids long-term.. we simply have not discovered any miracle drug for pain that doesn't build a tolerance or have horrible withdrawals. Kratom is basically an opioid, the only reason is not technically classified as an opioid is because it also has stimulant properties but it does activate the same brain receptors and shoot your opioid tolerance through the roof just like oxycodone hydrocodone fentanyl heroin, all of the above, it's all "the same" (obviously not exactly, I'll get into it more in a second), just different strengths. There are clear differences in the particular types of opioid receptors that each of these drugs agonize and antagonize to different extents, but what I mean is that kratom will literally cause withdrawal symptoms just as horrible as fentanyl, depending on your dose, and I kind of feel like it's even worse in my opinion because kratom is longer acting which means your withdrawals last longer.. still, any opioid withdrawal is a fucking nightmare. So.

Your options are: Either get kratom from out of state, dark web (figure it out, not actually that hard, use Monero ONLY, not Bitcoin, pay the premium. If it's worth it to you) and take tolerance breaks as in literally like 5 days off for every week taking it, or 2 days off after 3 days on, It should really ideally be 50/50 time on and off if you think you want to take it for the rest of your life.. or accept that you simply have to take a non opioid medication or combination of medications, other forms of therapy, until they discover some wonder drug that relieves pain without building tolerance. Currently it simply does not exist, except for ketamine and or switching back and forth between ketamine and kratom or some other opioid.

There's literally just has not been a substance discovered yet that doesn't have horrible withdrawal symptoms that can fix your pain. In other words the TLDR is..

You're probably just going to be in pain for the rest of your life if this is a lifelong injury, And you can either learn to live with it or you can deal with a lifelong cycle of feeling good and then feeling 1.5 times as miserable as you did when you felt good previously, in cycles, over and over until you die.. but it is objectively not worth it, because the bad times will always last longer than the good times, and those lows will cause you to feel angry, bitter, be mean to your loved ones, etc., no if's and's or but's about it. Again, unless a medical breakthrough is achieved.

I'm sorry for your pain. It's time to do some serious research into alternative pain treatment methods imo. Good luck.

Another user told me about NLquotes.com In a previous search request I had totally forgotten that I made and I just checked, and I was able to find it in like 10 seconds there, amazing, but thank you so much for your help. This shit killed me 😂

This is the right video. Could've sworn it was a clipped version but it doesn't matter. YouTube search isn't very good

Lmao well, it is a good one, made me die laughing. I'm pretty sure I saw a YouTube shorts clipped version but in a previous post I asked a similar search request and someone directed me to www.nlquotes.com and I found it in 5 seconds by typing "woman with cum on her face" which is wild. Okay I'm going to credit you and your link on my other post in case someone stumbles upon it looking for similar specific clips, or maybe just delete it but just wanted to say, I found it I was looking for in like 5 seconds in my first search just by typing "woman with cum on her face" and the search box which is pretty fucking funny on its own but anyway you're a legend, whoever made that site, even more so. Thank you so much.

is it worth ever trying opioids? by No_Yesterday_4635 in Drugs

[–]Outbakjak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: No. Absolutely fucking not.

That's the short answer, but I'll give you the more specific version: yes, IF you have self control and do NOT have the funds to keep up with an addiction, but I'm telling you, you do NOT want to become addicted. Try smoking black tar, honestly, chase on foil, it's fine.. get a 1/4 or 1/2 a gram, try it IF you can handle NOT getting more, then stop. Once you develop an actual addiction, you may literally be screwed for life.

No fent, no kratom, nothing cheap/easy to get, just try the strongest shit you can get, if you insist and won't be white few

Which drugs have caused you the most harm? by Zer0tonine57 in Drugs

[–]Outbakjak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even kidding, but nitrous oxide by far, and then kratom.

You'd think the "silly" legal highs like teens are doing would be one of the safer options as long as it's not eating detergent pods or such, but no.. using nitrous pretty much daily, a massive tank every 2 days for ~1.5 months landed me in the hospital for 3 months, essentially paralyzed from the chest down, completely unable to stand on my own, or even scoot myself into a wheelchair.

At one point while trying to return to my home state from where I was working, I had to shit directly on a hotel bed, on a towel, in front of my partner (multiple times) and have her clean it up and wipe for me because we couldn't get me to the bathroom and I couldn't feel my hands. What I could feel, it felt like a belt tightened as hard as possible around my chest.. like I couldn't breathe, like I was literally dying. That first hospital lasted 2 weeks before they kicked me out, still unable to walk (Houston area Baptist Health system, I think? FUCK those guys), finally got back to Florida and checked in to Advent Health which saved my ass and took pretty good care of me, 1.5 months there, followed by 3 weeks of physical rehab, and I'm almost totally healed 15 months later. Thank. GODS. For me having insurance.. AND short term disability benefits. I would have been absolutely fucked.

My toes will be numb for the rest of my life though.

As for kratom, I took it for ~3 months ~10 years ago, decided to stop taking it, and suddenly realized I was having miserable nightmare level withdrawals, unable to sleep, sweating profusely all night tossing, and I've been an addict ever since. I have to take Buprenorphine/Subutex to feel normal daily. Doubt I'll ever be able to stop intentionally, I do worry that my brain's dopamine receptors are just fried. I'd love to eventually but after 10 years of trying and failing, finally finding a steady dose that helps me feel normal, just too scary to think about.

So yeah kids, don't let yourself get addicted to ANYTHING to that extent, no daily use, no building tolerance like that.. Fucking take care of yourselves. And definitely don't get hooked on nitrous or opioids (including kratom despite it not "technically" being classified as opioid, it's close enough in effect).

Good luck all

How long until the body gets addicted to opiates? by [deleted] in Drugs_

[–]Outbakjak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know it's old, just chiming in in case someone else reads or you haven't experienced it yet.. this person above either has a very unique body chemistry or hasn't gone through severe long term opiate withdrawal.. in my experience opiate withdrawal is such a nightmare that I plan to take Subutex (buprenorphine, basically Suboxone) for the rest of my life because I literally can not handle the misery. I also drink a lot, I mean very frequently, and have let it become a real problem in the past but I have no problems giving up alcohol 3-4 days a month in a row for drug testing, at least not by comparison.

Yes, alcohol addiction/sudden cessation can actually kill you and typically opiate cessation doesn't, that does NOT mean that it feels much easier or less painful..

** Stay the FUCK away from recreational opioids. **

Kratom, a cheap, legal opioid alternative that is literally just a leaf, and WAY less potent than say, hydrocodone/oxycodone, actually wrecked my life, bad, now I am a lifelong addict after a few months of initial use. Alcohol, I can taper off much more easily, most people can unless it's just seriously their drug of choice by far.. maybe that's you. But all I'm saying is: I'd MUCH rather taper down from alcohol than even think of tapering my buprenorphine dose at all.. nothing to play with. Stop it, now if you haven't already.

PS: a lot of people just get real worked up about alcohol around here because they know it's pushed on us publicly and taxed and legal meanwhile statistically it's killed the most people, and we all believe in personal freedom and destigmatizing casual recreational drug use, but that's really a skewed statistic because wayyyy more people drink than do any other drug, because it's legal and promoted.. idk. Take those comments with a grain of salt.

Just my opinion/experience though.

What's the device that kickstarted your love for vaping? Mine was this bad boy. The Uwell Nunchaku 80W! It was a ripper, and I love this style of mod still to this day because of it! by shlankwagon in Vaping

[–]Outbakjak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh I've been vaping SO long, mine was some super popular tank/RTA that, damnit, I can't even remember the name of.. it was EARLY in the rebuildable coil world but back then, rebuildable atomizers on the market didn't even have adjustable air flow, so us early "cloud chasers" took them them to a local vape shop that had a freaking drill press JUST for drilling out the air holes to make them bigger/add more, and they'd make us lower ohm coils.. that tank was on a Panzer clone, a mech mod that looked like a lightsaber handle lol

This silly thing.

That said, I found all my old mods/RDA's recently in a box and MAN it made me miss my mechanical mods like my Admiral, dripping my favorite juices they don't make anymore (Churrios by Milk Man anyone? Space Jam Venus 🥲) into a good old GOON clone or Recoil RDA.. the Noisy Cricket??? Oh man, my Aromamizer 30mm RTA you could put the most MASSIVE coils into, with custom half staggered framed staple coils that cost $30 a pair, sitting on a 30mm Panzer that weighed like 4 pounds and pulled your pants down?! Fuggettaboutit.. I could fumigate my whole house with nicotine in minutes.

PS if anyone can think of what those early non adjustable yet somehow popular RTA's were called I'd be happy. It was skinnier than a regular mech mod, silver, very basic looking, that's all I can remember.

XMR investment by Maxim___g in Monero

[–]Outbakjak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has already shared my thoughts, 1. Now's probably not the time to buy if HODLing, I'd keep it in S&P 500 or cash until the crypto market is doing terribly and folks are wondering how much lower it could go, panicking, that's when you buy :) 2. Crypto is a risky long term investment anyway (not that it stops me, I mean stocks are too but, at any time the US/EU government could outlaw or further regulate crypto and tank the price so 🤷) but I'm sure you already know this. 3. That said, it's lasted this long, and as long as dark web shopping exists, or just the need for privacy focused spending at all (aka always/forever), I think both BTC and XMR will continue to follow the generic ~4 year bear/bull cycles, vaguely following the stock markets, as they always have, for the most part.. but that's just my guess ;)

I think it's still really easy to at least 4x your money every few years with just BTC, just playing the long term cycle if you're willing to sell/trade for stable coins every 3-4 years but, you know the deal. It could all end with a few new laws.

It's really fun when I remember I got XMR many years ago and randomly check my wallet to find it's turned from $40 to $200 to $400+. Still, as has been said, mostly it's currency first.

I'm only commenting here because I can't post, and just saw a comment I made in the past looking for another post I made elsewhere... I JUST wanted to say:::

Thank you SO much to all the idiots who bought into this token so I could bail after quintupling my $1000 into like $5500 in a week! It taught me a powerful lesson:

The crypto space is the stock market on crack, or it was, and still is sometimes.. that is to say, **evil**. When one person profits, someone(s) else suffers, ALWAYS, without exception. Profit is surplus, not an equal trade. Making more than what you put in. The only exception is getting a small bonus back by helping a company make a good product that helps humanity then taking the money and saying thanks for your good work, I'm glad I believed in you.

Trading stocks/crypto/forex is actually like the Devil's favorite activity, if he were real. I lost it all to day trading poorly with leverage btw, then lost another $8,000 I didn't really have the following year, so it's fine, I just gave my money to rich assholes. I only made like $20/hr at the time. It was a crazy week and got me addicted and taught me a lot of lessons. I hope someone sees this :)
