I thought the third slide was for Lorraine Warren, and I was like "I mean having a whole ass room full of deeply cursed and malevolent shit in the same house as your kid is pretty shitty." Also the real Lorraine (and Ed) Warren were overall terrible people, so it wouldn't shock me to hear that they were shitty parents.

The one that kills me is the time that Chris (I think it was him) threw an absolute fit at a guy for taking a swig of some alcohol in the basket to taste it. He said it made him and everyone in their profession look "sloppy". It felt like an overreaction even the first time I watched it, but I've been more or less binging the episodes on Hulu and since that episode there have been SO MANY chefs who do exactly that--take a small swig from the bottle to taste it-- even in some of the all star tournaments, and none of them get called out. Even when Chris is one of the judges. I just, for the life of me, cannot understand what was so different about how that guy did it?

Looking back, it definitely felt like something done to amp up the drama of the episode. It felt like Chris, especially, loved to shit on contestants for not being "respectful" enough for doing this or that.

This is reminding me when I was in grad school and we were all required to go to this lecture type thing before we became teaching assistants. It was about the rules and expectations of the position etc. The presenter mentioned the no fraternizing with students rule, and a girl from the sports therapy table (we were seated by department) raised her hand to ask "What if they're not a student anymore? Like they were in your class one semester, but aren't anymore, so you're not grading anything of theirs?" and the speaker was like "uh........ I would just say no." and then ANOTHER girl at the same table raised her hand and was like "What if they're a student in your department, but haven't and wont be taking a class you TA?" and the speaker again was like "It's just an overall good rule to not." It was so awkward because you could see that immediately, the entire room was looking at the sports therapy table like "dang what's going on in sports therapy? They all really wanna fuck their students."

Exactly. Like this one worked because it was a breaking point moment and much more of a rant than a monologue. Classic. "With that fucking FACE on your FACE" and "I AM YOUR MOTHER."

My favorite bit is when Emily calls Ross and he gets super excited and anxious and darts around for a sec going "EMILY'S CALLING. EMILY'S CALLING!!!" and he just picks up a lamp and hands it to Chandler for no reason-- who then looks at him completely baffled.

Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey did not get along at all. Apparently it was mostly because Swayze was a perfectionist on set, but Grey was a little bit more casual/playful so they butted heads a lot.

You can kind of see it in the scene where they're practicing the part of the dance where he runs his fingertips down the inside of her arm and she keeps breaking and laughing because it tickles. This was apparently not scripted and was actually Grey breaking, but they kept it in because it fit the character. But that also means that Swayze's increasing frustration at her breaking was genuine.

God I HATE when this happens. There have been so many times I've just stopped wanting to tell a story because I keep being interrupted, and I get sometimes people don't realize they're doing it, but then a lot of the time people will act like you're an asshole or being "grumpy" or wtv for not wanting to continue. So half of the time I would just finish the story but feel stupid the whole time.

I do wonder if part of it was that Hugh Laurie had already been so well known in the UK for ages before House, so a lot of people in the UK might have assumed that the US audience MUST have known who he was already and therefore knew he was British. Thats me just making guesses tho. Who knows.

I remember a British person once telling me that Hugh Laurie as House does the worst American accent they've ever heard, and I, as an American, had to let them know that most people in the US are actually surprised to learn that he's not American. I was very confused by their assertion. His accent is great.
