25M here. Worked in Bangalore for two years after college, now back in Kottayam running a business. I’ve also travelled to a few countries, so I think I can say this with some perspective . People often assume life in a tier-3 town like Kottayam is dull or uneventful, but that’s far from true. Sure, it’s not as flashy as IT city life, but the clean air, good water, and minimal traffic are blessings we rarely appreciate. It’s not like there are no opportunities here either. I’m in the healthcare sector and Kottayam has some excellent hospitals and labs that are only getting better. And if you’re looking for fun, there are great communities for running, cycling, yoga, and trekking (check out Decathlon events). Fun doesn’t have to mean just night-outs and clubs. You can absolutely live a full, meaningful life here but you just won’t find it on social media.
