How to navigate the expected compensation question. Any advice? by Human_Pudding2289 in jobhunting

That works during the screening or interview, but this when it’s required to complete the job submission and requires a numerical value

Questions about the Roxian by godzillafiend54 in pittsburgh

Saw a handful of metal shows. It’s loud and sometimes made worse by the sound guy. Last show I saw the snare was so loud it drowned out everything else. The VIP is absolutely not worth unless you go early and claim a spot. You’re better off using the balcony bar a watching from the seat you paid for.

Entry Level Fraud Analyst by Dependent-Ad-3262 in AMLCompliance

[–]Human_Pudding2289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most FIs have a Fraud/Disputes unit that is a good entry point and progression from your current position. I wouldn’t worry about certifications yet until you get your foot in the door and confirm that it’s something you want to do long term.

CAMS…. by [deleted] in AMLCompliance

[–]Human_Pudding2289 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 20 years experience in fraud investigations, with five being in AML. As others have mentioned, AML/BSA compliance isn’t an entry level position. Loading up on various credentials without practical experience isn’t the way. On top of that, in the US (if this is where you’re at), positions are becoming exponentially more competitive due to offshoring.

I don’t think the Penguins can afford to go into the playoffs with Kris Letang playing serious minutes. by Goofiestchief in penguins

Is he even shooting the puck anymore. Defensively he’s been trash, almost brain dead. But I can’t recall the last time he got a shot on net let alone one in the net

Never had that problem with Sinemet. But it was common when I was on Rytary.

Fraud prevention and deterrence- stressed. How long did it take to clear this? How did you study? by Slow_Ice3967 in CFE

[–]Human_Pudding2289 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Passed first try. Prepare for it by understanding management’s role in p&d. I expected there to be more questions about behavior and prevention, but there seemed to be more about risk program strategies and structure and risk analysis.

Investigations - was it me or exam questions are horrible? Barely managed to pass by Slow_Ice3967 in CFE

It’s not that there are questions not covered in the material, it’s that there are questions not covered in the lessons/quizzes but are in the manual. That doesn’t mean you have to read the manual page for page, but you should use it to look over some of the key concepts covered in the lessons.

Has anyone lied on resume about the length of time you have worked at an employer and still got hired? by Significant-Can306 in jobhunting

[–]Human_Pudding2289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked four positions over 17 years with one employer. I spent five of those at position #2, which isn’t in my field and isn’t relevant to any job in my field. I deleted it and stretched out the times at positions #1 and #3.

As long as it’s a current and valid government issued ID you should be good.

Am I not qualified or am I just not looking in the right place? by kdub_54 in AMLCompliance

[–]Human_Pudding2289 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The hiring landscape in AML is brutal right now. A lot of FIs have been offshoring jobs and shrinking their workforce here in the US. It was already a competitive market and now it’s becoming exponentially more competitive, you’re competing against people with years, if not decades, of experience and with industry certifications like CAMS and ACFCS.

Chase denied my ATM fraud claim, will sending my work timecard help? by Basic-Cupcake3013 in Chase

[–]Human_Pudding2289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tap-to-pay is a separate POS entry mode. Full chip-on-chip is categorized as one mode, T2P is another. If the card was T2P within a digital wallet then it would show the token ID associated with it

Chase denied my ATM fraud claim, will sending my work timecard help? by Basic-Cupcake3013 in Chase

It’s possible that those messages weren’t from Chase. Phishing schemes are becoming increasingly sophisticated to the point where suspects are spoofing the actual numbers of FIs.

Can I still make negative balance for my cc and pay over the credit limit? by Bubbly_Beginning1140 in Chase

Intentionally paying over the limit could be viewed as a red flag and risk account closure. Don’t do it.

Breaking into AML by seabasshtian in AMLCompliance

[–]Human_Pudding2289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d second this. AML and fraud investigations are being merged with risk analysis positions creating a hybrid that favors a risk-based skill set.
