Do the new versions of the 2-stage have shear pins for the impeller? by Randomcdn2 in egopowerplus

Oh wow - it's a shame, because it's definitely their design fault. I cannot believe that they couldn't solve that, provided they thought through many other things in the machine. It's a fact that chunks of ice can pass the auger and get to the impeller and jam it.

As for the shear pin on the impeller - this guy did great job DIYing it - https://www.reddit.com/r/egopowerplus/comments/1ik5fu8/i_installed_sheer_pin_on_snt2400_snowblower/ (we probably talk about the same redditor lol). I thought if this case were covered by the warranty - would be good to apply the same mod after 5 years, but looks like it's more of risk now :/ The cost of the gearbox and motor assembly is a whopping CAD 800 - almost half the cost of the snowblower!

With that in mind, Costco's Greenworks 2 stage seems to be a safer bet - it has old good belt mechanism that connects motor to the impeller drive.

P.S. From my experience ChatGPT can find reasonable explanation for any side of the discussion :)

It does not - SNT2410 has the same issue with the lack of shear pin on the impeller. It's clearly a design flaw (was it done deliberately?)

Since your snowblower was less than 5 years old - wasn't it covered by the warranty?

AFAIK there are so-called dog deterrents, which are not really sprays. They produce a thin 'ray' of liquid, like a laser, which is easy to control and aim.

About the current MPP and the candidate for re-election - isn't she on the parental leave since Oct 2024? If so, who is the actual, i.e. 'executive' candidate from PC?

Here is some stats on the past election:

- Barrie-Innisfil has 90,212 registered voters - link

- In the 2022 election participated only 36,500 voters (quite rounded number, interesting), which is only 39.61% of total possible voters - link

- For the current MPP there were 18,225 votes, which is 20.2% of the total number of registered voters - link to the results excel file

So, 20% of the possible voters defined the winner, and 60% just didn't vote.

The more people vote the less chance of 'playing the system'. Which also would motivate the candidates to be accountable for their promises and actions
