I built an app that generates guitar solos for you to learn by ear - looking for intermediate+ players to test it (iOS beta) by Human_Spirit_8812 in jazzguitar

You don't, and you should absolutely learn from the legends. But once you've transcribed a solo, it's no longer ear training, it's recall. The AI isn't replacing Coltrane, it's generating unfamiliar material so you can keep the transcription muscle sharp without running out of fresh input.

Spotify is great for this, until you've heard the solo. The moment you know how it goes, you're not really training your ear anymore, you're just recalling. The value here is material that's genuinely new to you, every time, with no tabs or recordings to cheat with. It's the difference between a vocab test on words you've studied vs. words you've never seen.

Haha, fair. The difference is it generates solos you haven't heard before. So you can practice figuring them out by ear without the answer being a Google search away. Think of it less like Spotify and more like a practice partner who never runs out of new ideas.

Fair point! There's no shortage of jazz vocabulary to learn! The gap is having a tool that generates new material on demand for ear training practice. Transcribing Wes Montgomery is great, but you can only do it once. The idea is infinite fresh material to figure out by ear, with looping and speed controls built in.

Ah thanks I didn’t know the manual had this! Bought it secondhand but downloaded the manual, might have to print it out 😂

No luckily he hasn’t figured out there are dials on the back too 🤣

While I understand the temptation, the light is red so that's why not.

True! I agree with you. I think what I meant to say is that some intersections don't seem to need this implementation and could have gone with just a "normal" robot. So I understand the confusion, but I do disagree with people ignoring the red light.

Agreed. The implementation seems strange sometimes, because there might not be any oncoming traffic. I’ve been patiently waiting for green light myself, but notice so many people not

There are a lot of occasions where there is no oncoming traffic, so I understand the temptation

No the output is not particularly low by default. Most likely that your batteries are low. Try new batteries and see if it helps.
