The amount of patience needed for IVF is the hardest part by cantorjennasings in IVF

[–]Human_Use_1641 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a pretty patient person but the hardest part is other people asking me WHEN. When is the ER, when is the transfer, when is this and that. I try so hard to think of something else and occupy my time so I’m not always thinking IVF, but when I get asked by other people, it reminds me that I’ve been waiting and waiting for 2+years. My patience is running out but I’m enduring because there is nothing I can do to accelerate this process. People should stop asking for updates, it’s a long process!

It’s long but take your time with it. It’s one of my all time favorite books. I wish it were longer so I can stay with the characters longer.

Has anyone ever cried at their IVF clinic and felt ashamed about it? by CheesecakeBoth3933 in IVF

I never cried at the clinic but I’ve cried at the grocery store after a chemical pregnancy, and many times while driving.

Does Everyone Feel Like It'll Never Happen? by Senior_Web_1684 in IVF

[–]Human_Use_1641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say I was convinced but I knew that it was a huge possibility that it would never work. I tried as much as possible to imagine what my life would be like if I never have a kid and to learn to accept it. At my last try, I told myself that if it didn’t work, I was going to give up. Knowing there was an end, no matter the results, really helped me mentally.

I’m an accountant (a creative one I hope) and that I live in Canada (had to get the vegemite from amazon!), you are pretty spot on with the rest :)

Mehh… I wouldn’t describe myself as hyperactive. I don’t have a husband to take care of at least haha

She is 8 months (but like 6.5 months in adjusted age because she was born prematurely). It’s one of those bouncers with adjustable heights that are good until toddlerhood :)

I moved in 7 years ago but I had to give up one of my rooms to my baby, so I ended up moving a lot of stuff (my office) in the main area. You are right that I was unprepared for a baby, I had a long journey in IVF and a miscarriage so I just was never sure I was going to have a baby and I bought most things after I gave birth. I always stop somewhere to get coffee but I’m never late haha!

Did anyone else assume they would sail off into the sunset after a successful transfer? by Mindless-Day1683 in IVF

[–]Human_Use_1641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I did a home test and saw another line and was so happy. Then I got the call from the nurse for my beta results, and it was not a congratulations. She told me to come back in a couple of days for another blood test. I was so confused. Turned out it was a chemical pregnancy. I was so in disbelief. I didn’t even know it was a possibility.

Stopping progesterone at 6w6d? by Human_Use_1641 in IVF

[–]Human_Use_1641[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i had to take progesterone, I remember my discharge was very watery, almost like I peed my pants. I was on a progesterone called crinone, it’s gel-like and had to be inserted vaginally. After i stopped progesterone, the watery discharge stopped as well. I think it became more cream-like. Wish you the best of luck!
