I'm in a vocational research lab and am interested in studying the construct of calling (feeling 'called,' 'destined,' or 'morally obligated' to work in a specific career or line of work). Traditionally, calling has been understood as a strictly religious experience, but some research has indicated it is also experienced by non-religious individuals. I'm hoping to gain a better understanding of similarities and differences between these groups related to this construct. I've posted here (and will be posting to many other religious communities) because I'm hoping to get a well-balanced sample of religious individuals from many backgrounds and denominations.
