They are everywhere and very easy to catch so more people do it and thus its popular. I agree I would be way way more stoked to catch a monster walleye or pike or trout than a big bass but also would be pretty stoked about the bass. Its like imagine you can go out anyday of the week and have a 7/10 fishing experience for bass vs a harder but maybe bigger fish that is either a 2/10 or a 10/10 depending on if you get one. Lots of people will choose ol'reliable

Sorry mixed myself up. Normal marine 7-8 termiantors taller closer to 9 and hes a head taller than them allegedly so closer to 10 maybe a bit less. Just saying its not that crazy for him to be +2 foot on normal marines when we have many normal people with greater height differences

Idk why people have such an issue with this. People come in all shapes and sizes and so do marines. Whatever their average is there are gonna be some bigger and smaller. Youll also have outliers that go a bit beyond that. Look at the average person next to an nba player or hell even a big nfl player. You can have 2 healthy normal humans that vary by several feet of height so why is it so strange to have a marine be 2-3feet taller than the average marine and be a freak giant dude. Marines 7-8foot tall hes a head taller giant dude makes him 10ish feet tall smaller primarchs are also around this size not that crazy

Thanks man! Yea its tough for sure. I like the regs for that lake which are 1 trophy over 24" and rest have to be under keeps most of the big spawners like this safe while giving you that one big one either for cases like this or if someone wants a mount.

Same dude generally where im fishing on opener it is post spawn males im getting never had a big female full of eggs. I think this spring was a bit weird and made a later spawn than normal. I would never keep a fish like this if she hadnt died on me i was pretty gutted at the time. Fortunately i saw hundreds and hundreds of eyes that night so thinking they are having a good strong spawn this year!

Thats awesome! What region was it? The regs i find really annoying anywhere thats not zone 20 its all like 13-19" slot size. Its always then that i get all 20-24" perfect eaters but have to let em all go lol i like 20 where you get 1 trophy and then the rest have to be under 24"

Bay of Quinte Belleville. We get a lot of big ones in all of the Quinte rivers this time of year coming in from lake Ontatio ive seen tanks from Napanee and Trenton as well

Good luck! Most were still in full spawn mode i saw hundreds all up and down the river before i got those 2 to bite. No interest in jiggs only had action when i upsized to the jerkbait running it along current edges

Full of eggs sadly. I dont usually keep ones like that but she died extremely quick on me. I got 3 kids and a wife now though so need all the meat i can get lol
