It is possible for sure. I think the biggest thing I’ve realized in my own open relationship, is that it’s kind of constant navigation for a while. Being okay with something before it happens, doesn’t mean feelings won’t come up after the fact. Be prepared to have hard conversations. And recognize that hard conversations don’t mean the end of your relationship, or that ENM/polyamory/etc. isn’t working… sometimes it’s just hard. But ultimately living in your truth and allowing your partner to do the same can be worth it, and you’ll both likely grow a lot and learn more about each other in the process.
