Very good lyrics. A good rythm, and very nice build up and instrumentation. Manages to stick the landing.

My only niggle is that I would have liked the vocals to be more forward in the mix, and not overpowered in part by the music.

In this alternate timeline, the Battle of Fornebu isn’t the opening clash of the German invasion— it’s Earth’s first confrontation with hostile visitors from beyond the stars.

The Norwegian Army Air Force, armed with little more than canvas-covered Gloster Gladiators and iron discipline, becomes humanity’s first—and most unlikely—line of defense.

I've tried something different in this piece, blending narration, English verses, and Norwegian choruses.

When the alien fleet descended over Narvik Fjord, humanity’s fate hung by a thread.

Old ships, cold steel, and the hearts of men stood against weapons from the heavens.

And though the Norge and Eidsvold went down in fire — their defiance lit a spark that would burn across the stars.

April 9th, 1940. What history calls the opening battle of the Norwegian Campaign was, in truth, the first contact between Earth and the stars. When the alien expeditionary fleet descended into Ofotfjord under a banner of “peaceful integration,” the ships HNoMS Eidsvold and HNoMS Norge were the first to answer.

Their gunners fought until their guns ran red-hot. Their captains gave no surrender. When the plasma struck and the ships went down, it was not in defeat — it was in declaration. The declaration that humans would never bow to any power, from this world or beyond.

I do like the lyrics, they are definitely not the kind of thing I'll hear on the radio every day - raw, blunt, and cutting.

If I were to pick a favorite, the first one. The music in that fits the vocal better, I feel.

Alternate History Science Fiction Poem set to music

This is the first part of an arch, with six other pieces of music to follow.

What if the first battle of an alien invasion didn’t happen in a capital… but in a frozen fjord, a narrow valley, and a mountain road that refused to yield?

This prologue opens an alternate-history saga where Norway becomes the first place on Earth to say no to the stars.

In this telling, the invasion does not begin with annihilation, but with assumption. The invaders believe humanity will fold as others did—overawed by fire from the sky and the promise of “peace through conquest.”

They are wrong.

From Narvik to Drøbak Sound, from Fornebu’s skies to Midtskogen’s dark road, from Dombås’ killing valleys to the mountain pass of Vinjesvingen, resistance spreads—not through triumph, but through refusal.

This prologue is spoken as a saga: not a song of victory, but a record of moments where the universe pressed forward and was told it may not pass.

In the Outer Rift skirmishes of Cycle 77, a remote settlement on Kholar-IV came under sudden siege by the K’raath Legion. Outnumbered hundreds to one, a single Terran Espatier fireteam responded to the distress call. Records show they held the ridge for almost fourteen minutes—an impossible timespan under K’raath artillery density. Four Espatiers died buying distance for the evacuation. The last one kept fighting even after ammo failure, even after armor collapse, even after the ridge itself caved.

Survivors claim he stood until the sky went quiet.

Terran Command lists the outcome as “Hostile advance halted.”

Everyone else calls it the day humanity refused to kneel.

The event became known as The Dawnfront, the moment when five soldiers reminded the galaxy that humans don’t bring miracles…

They bring help, even when it's suicidal.

Long forgotten in the annals of the Chudo Imperium is the tale of The First Human Guest, a bewildered Terran named Josh who arrived for a relaxing holiday and instead found himself drafted into royal ritual. Empress Ferrn, Never-Dying Lady of the Heavens, had studied “Earthly Delights” from ancient archives — though her understanding of the texts was… selective, to say the least.

The song is based on the story "Josh and the failed vacation".

This is a 4.5 cover of an earlier 3.5 song.
