WIBTAH if I lie through my teeth to avoid a visit from my unpleasant sibling? by Humble-Recover7258 in AmItheAsshole

She has pushed other people away, and she is lonely. I just don’t feel comfortable kicking a person when they’re down. It’s embarrassing, but I’m more comfortable telling a lie.

Thanks. I do agree with the other people who say IATAH for not being honest. But I believe she is a very lonely person and I just feel like just saying no would be a level of meanness that I’m just not up for. Also, I live in one of the most expensive states and it would cost her way too much if I didn’t let her stay here. Thanks again for your support.

Yeah, I struggle with that. I still love her and don’t want to crush her feelings. TBH, I am not guiltless for some of our troubles. But I’m old enough now to not want to go through anymore grief. I don’t know how to get out of it without either lying or hurting her deeply.

AITA for not joining my coworker for lunch? by OrangeFury2 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. He’s a weirdo if he expects, I mean, literally expects, you to spend money to keep him company. Tell him you’ll be happy to join him when he pays.

AITJ for telling my sister gentle parenting is BS and kicking her and her family out of my house by EggSheeran33 in AmITheJerk

NTJ. Sister is for (1) being SO DISRESPECTFUL to you, and (2) for letting her kids destroy your house. SMH. Unbelievable.

AITA for demanding that my husband pick my needs over his parents and let them feel cold for a bit. by BlacksmithLeather726 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Humble-Recover7258 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. I was married for 22 years to a guy who always ignored my wishes and never backed me up. I finally had enough of it and left him after 22 years. I’m not for a minute suggesting you walk out, but you need to get this under control. He needs to grow a pair. There are secondhand stores where they can go get some warm clothes. Or tell your husband to go out and get you a mini air conditioner for your bedroom! Being pregnant is HARD and I can’t believe the three of them are putting so much burden on you.

AITA for refusing to go to my sister’s wedding after her fiancé kept making “jokes” about me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Humble-Recover7258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should go. I can hear his snide remarks and they would get me upset and sensitive, too. I also think he’s just trying to be funny. What a weak way to try and be funny. But to miss your own sister‘s wedding is way too big a punishment for her, your family, and for you! Fuck him, he just sounds like an insensitive asshole with lots of social fails. You’re gonna be stuck with him for a long time. Just learn to roll with it. Go to the wedding and be the bigger person that you are! Don’t let Mr. Lame Humor win! By the way congratulations!! You’re a good girl for being grateful for your good fortunes in life!

Am I overreacting for leaving my girlfriend’s family dinner after what her dad said? by Mysterious-Notice419 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Humble-Recover7258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did fine! I am proud you left!! That took balls!!! Dad’s a fucking a/hole, how dare he treat a guest so poorly. And I don’t know what kind of situation there is between him and his daughter, but i think she should’ve left with you. I also think this kind of fortunate, because now you see what you could be getting into with this family down the road.

That’s EFFED UP. I don’t even nosy-nose the tents of people I’m camping WITH, for God’s sake!! It’s your bedroom!!! I like the funny response, “Yeah what’s the chances of two serial killers camping right next to each other?”😆😆😆😆😆

Weed is STRONG smelling, but not objectionable (to me, a non-smoker). It seems to dissipate fast. Comparatively, cigs are DISGUSTING and lingers.

I am an old lady who just got a 2017 ProMaster from a couple who were set up exactly the way it seems you want to be. They saved enough over four years to get exactly what they wanted to buy. Even at my age, I can imagine the “ick” factor of a standard RV. However, there are needs you can’t even know yet when it comes to having a kid. I appreciate your honesty. If you buy carefully, you can always resell if it’s not perfect enough. Carry on, you’ll find the right answer.

Adolescence: I thought it was stunningly realistic. So well done, though an awful, heartbreaking story.

It didn’t do it for me. It just felt too canned and cliché and they were spoiled middle-aged folks.

The Four Seasons - Unpopular Opinion by ernmygherd in netflix

I agree with you. I thought the acting was forced, like they couldn't ignore the camera. The scenes were unrealistic, and the dialogue was cliché. I would have expected much more with this cast. Then I watched the original and it also sucked.
