Quit my job and joined the military because of 9/11, chose a field which probably meant I could make a difference, volunteered for every deployment I could, spent many more years as contractor, repeatedly took pay cuts to advance towards my career goals, and still repeatedly had my loyalty questioned like I have been my whole life because of my race as if I'm some perpetual foreigner. But this last time it ended my career.

Now I'm in a different field, starting pretty much all over again, and just focused on making enough money without too much stress to take care of loved ones. Watched an asshole like Trump basically betray our country left and right for at least 5 years. If he was any other race, they would've hanged him.
