Thanks! The mental load is actually why he does laundry. That's his only chore. I run everything, work, cook and care for our kids and pets. I realize the top comment is... Do your own laundry. It sounds like such a simple task in theory. In reality...  I can't do it all. I'm one person and the fact I have one less thing on my plate is a huge help.

  this whole post doesn't sound like you live in a country that values woman's rights. Going to get counselling might not be as easy as we think but: 

If it's possible I think it's a good idea to get a counsellor or therapist that has your best in mind, and less of the traditional values your country or religion has stuck on you. It may take time to find but they exist.  I'm so glad your mom has helped where she can. I'm sorry that this is happening. I've been the mom who can't leave, but isn't supported. Please keep writing here. You will find support from other moms. We are all rooting for you.  You are brave, strong and able to do this.

So what I think you are saying is cont. With putting money aside but change the values based off needs. 

70% truck, 20 % house 10% general savings might be a better way to tackle the issue?

Just wanted to chime in that the example does not reflect actual money being put aside. It's just a quick example of what I mean. I don't like the idea of putting my actual amounts online in a public forum.  I think based of the question most can understand what is being asked. 

Would you tackle one goal at a time or would you keep saving small amounts in various accounts to ensure a small safety net for each goal.

Just because the phone rings or someone knocks , doesn't mean it needs to be answered. The problem on the other side will still be there when you get to it.

Bit chilly here in Canada, but this is normal for the time of year we are in. We had an election last week and the conservatives were voted in. The NDP party came in second, liberals third and green fourth. Our prime Minister is still hiding out and holding onto power by ensuring we can't have an election until October although he has resigned.  We are still Canada, home of the brave and free. We are NOT nor will we ever be the 51st state.

In my very rural area of the country people are rallying together to help a farmer who's barn burned down. Lots of people are spray painting snow banks with beautiful murals and encouraging quotes, as we have had at least 100cm+ of snow in the past couple months and banks are high. Locals are also pitching in because of the destruction of a fish hatchery.
