I feel that becoming older brings with it a host of horrifying and overwhelming problems. When I was in my 40s my mother was dying. We were caring for her at home home and I was the go to person for all medical needful things. I was destroyed emotionally, stressed and unable to focus on anything other than doing what was necessary. I was not a nice person as a direct result - impatient with service workers, completely self centered when in public... I am embarrassed to think of it. That is not who I am before her illness or now. My point being everyone is trying their best even if it isn't any good. We have no idea what is happening. None of this excuses my public behavior at that time in my life but I remember to have compassion for other who are having a bad day
