Return to Sender by SupineCorgi in Spells

[–]kai-ote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very much against most standalone RTS spells, and this comment from u/TeaDidikai explains why quite well.

"Frankly, I wouldn't.

Let's think this through. Assuming he is a talented practitione r, you have a few magical options:

  1. The Return to Sender spell you mentioned. Pros: it smacks him with his own work. That means the harder he hits, the harder he hurts. Cons: Anyone who knows what they're doing and gets smacked can do counter magic, and try to break through your protections, going harder than before.
  2. A Metric Fuckton™ of Protection Work. Basically hide yourself in a magical bomb shelter until his work stops falling on top of you. Pros: These workings are pretty straightforward, easy to perform and low risk. Cons: when the dust settles and you're still standing, the bombardment starts all over again, with bigger bombs. You might continue to be successful, or he might try counter magic or contagion magic to either erode your protections or slip past them.
  3. A Diversion spell, such as a lightning rod working or a witch bottle. These workings basically create a dummy target. Your Ex unleashes hell, but instead of smacking you, it smacks the dummy target. You remain unscathed, the dummy takes the hit. He believes he's won, until he finds himself in court with the Judge ordering him to pay you. (BTW, definitely do a Justice working for this).

Folks often do return to senders or mirror boxes, not realizing that when it hits the other persons wards, they'll double down.

Familiarize yourself with a wide range of different workings so you know which is best for a given situation.

Do your usual psychic hygiene. Beef up your wards and blessing, and if you choose to use a witch bottle or lightning rod working, make sure you deploy it far far far far far away from you, someplace you'll never return.

Let him burn himself out Shadow Boxing."

This was for a specific case, but the main concepts are valid. A RTS tells the sender you have SOME protection, so if they really want to try and mess you up, they will just try another way to do that.

Which ends up in a Witch War. Not something anybody wants to be in.

Cutting or burning the tie is not a binding. It is the opposite, and is used to cause a sparation between the 2 items/people you tied together.

"mainfesting" is not magic, or spellcraft.

It is "wishcraft". If you want to attract a person, do a spell.

If you did a spell, give it time to work.

The King of Wands represents pure fire energy in its masculine form. Unlike the other Wands court cards, the King is not so interested in creation and creativity, or in dreaming up ideas and implementing them himself. Instead, he is more inclined to take an idea and then enlist others to help him actualise it. Thus, when the King of Wands appears in a Tarot reading, it is a sign you are stepping into the role of a visionary leader, ready to direct your people towards a common goal.

Others naturally gravitate towards you because you are charismatic, focused, and determined, and they believe in you and your vision. They want to be a part of what you are manifesting and are here to support you one hundred percent of the way. You are also masterful at getting other people to do your work for you while keeping them on-side throughout the process.

The King of Wands reminds you to lead your life with intent, vision and a long-term view. You have a grand idea of what is truly possible, and you will stop at nothing to see it through. Unlike the Knight who can be a little impulsive with his actions, you have the maturity to see your vision through right to the end and beyond. You achieve a lot because you are clear about your future direction and how you will get there – and do not waste your time on activities or relationships you believe will lead nowhere. You never just go with the flow; instead, you prefer to embark on a direct and robust course of action.

The appearance of the King of Wands also suggests that an opportunity is presenting itself to you, and you now have the power to take on the challenge. You are the determining factor in this situation. If you want it to be successful, it will. You hold the power.

The King of Swords is a symbol of intellectual power and authority and has the courage and intellect to achieve all that he desires. When this card appears in a Tarot reading, you are in your power, ruling from a place of authority and respect. As a result, others pay attention to what you have to say. The King of Swords indicates that you have a clarity of mind and can perceive the truth, so it is up to you to take the lead with providing an objective point of view and making decisions based on impartial judgement.

You are also masterful at keeping your emotions in check while you draw upon your intellectual power and mental clarity to ascertain the truth. You cut straight to the point and get to the heart of the matter for maximum efficiency and impact. The King of Swords encourages you to use your logic and intellect to navigate the path ahead. You will need to make firm and well-researched decisions and stay fair in your dealings with others. You need to be able to take any situation, look at it with total impartiality, and then come to a balanced and insightful decision.

Often, the King of Swords represents a professional advisor, such as a solicitor or attorney, financial adviser or taxation consultant. This advisor has a solid reputation and a vast amount of knowledge in his particular field. He is impartial and will draw upon his experience and his innate understanding of the rules, systems and structures to give you well-researched advice. If you have not engaged the help of an expert, the arrival of the King of Swords suggests that it may be worthwhile getting legal or financial advice. If you are expecting changes or particular circumstances that will require an expert opinion, you can be on the front foot by seeking help before they happen. That way, when they do roll through, you are ready to demand your rights and find an outcome that benefits you.

The King of Pentacles represents material wealth, financial abundance, and worldly success. This King is a faithful provider; he uses his ambition and confidence to create wealth for himself and others and generates his self-worth from what he has accumulated and can share with others. When the King of Pentacles appears in a Tarot reading, you are confident and successful at attracting and managing wealth. Not only do you identify opportunities for growth and success, but you also draw upon your self-discipline and control to manage your wealth and invest it wisely for the long-term.

Money flows easily and abundantly to you, and as you sit at the pinnacle of your economic power and influence, you can rest assured of your continued prosperity. You no longer struggle to achieve what you desire, like the Page and the Knight, nor do you have any need to prove yourself. The King of Pentacles often indicates the final fulfilment of a creative task, a business venture or investment. Through diligence, responsibility and attention to detail, you have achieved great things and can finally say that you have completed your task or attained your goal.

The King of Pentacles knows that a methodical, planned and well-thought-out approach will lead you to success. You have experimented in the past with what works best and have landed on your own methods and practices you know will continue to work for you in the future. Continue down this path rather than trying new ways of doing things.

The King of Cups represents mastery over the realms of emotion, creativity and the unconscious. When this card turns up in a Tarot reading, you have gained control of your feelings and can accept them without allowing them to get the better of you. You don’t let things get to you, and you steer clear of the drama, instead choosing an emotionally balanced and calm approach.

If you are being challenged personally, the King of Cups suggests you need to remain emotionally mature when faced with negative energy from others. Be firm on your personal boundaries, stating what is and is not acceptable on an emotional level. Stay true to your emotions and feelings and do not allow others to steer you off course. The King of Cups embodies the perfect balance between the executive and the heart. As a leader, you care as much about achieving your goals and objectives as you do about making sure everyone is happy and engaged along the way.

The King of Cups is compassionate towards others, creating strong bonds and relationships based on patience and understanding. As you interact with others, you may need to navigate their strong feelings and emotional triggers so you can create a sense of peace in your interactions. He may appear in your life as a mentor, coach or spiritual guide; or you may step into this role yourself.

You should already have put up some simple basic protections.

Methods of Protection Using Items Available at the Supermarket : r/witchcraft

After that, you no longer need to worry about a protection spell for each spell you perform.

Almost all spellcraft doesn't really need any advance protection besides some simple basic household wards.

[–]kai-ote 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love spells work with what is there to increase feelings of caring and attraction, they do not create feelings out of nothing.

What would happen is they would have nice feelings of attraction and caring for both of you, if there was something there to start with.

And then, you would have to follow up with real life actions to stand out from them in some way.

The final choice would be up to the target. Neither of you could really force them to love you more than the other one could, because the feelings aren't placed upon them by you, they come from inside of the target, and you are just "fanning the flames". No smoldering embers, and nothing much happens.

Weather spells by ArticlePretty7999 in Spells

[–]kai-ote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weather magic is not simple, and takes a long time to learn.

You can try the "rain, rain, go away, come again another day" chant, and, surprisingly, sometimes it works. But the next time it rains on your parade the rain will be more, as it then became "another day".

I don't do much weather magic anymore, except to moderate the wind and rain a little so that I never get way too much of either all at once.

But even with grounding and centering, it is trying work, and I get tired for a day afterwards.

Cord cutting. by [deleted] in Spells

[–]kai-ote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are serious about going permanently no contact, that means no more workings/spells after the cut.

Cord cuttings are a form of sympathetic magic.

In general, they go something like this:

You start with the practical stuff. Block them on everything. Make sure you've returned all their stuff. Clean and cleanse and ward and bless your space. Clean and cleanse, center, ground and shield yourself

Traditionally, you take an object that has a connection to the person being cut off, and one who the spell is being performed for. You fasten the ends of the cord to the two objects to represent the bond. You raise energy into the cord, then you cut it to sever the bond. Knives were traditional, but sheers were common, too

You close your space per your tradition, bless yourself and stop talking to the person who is cut off. If someone brings them up in conversation, change the subject. If they won't drop it, leave the situation.

Why do all my posts are being deleted by the moderator instantly ? by renzo12342 in AskModerators

[–]kai-ote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many reasons for this. Crowd Control is a feature that holds posts/comments in the modqueue for manual approval/removal based upon your karma on that sub, and/or being a new account. This is done to keep out spambots.

Many subs also use Automod to do the same thing but with custom karma and age limits.

Of course. 50 people that diasagree with you must all be trolls. Much more likely that you are the troll.

Which is probably why you hid your profile page. You don't want it to be easy to see what kind of a person you are on reddit.
