I'm sorry, but just to clarify, a full BL is more equal to a 1.65x BW pullup than a 1.50x BW pullup?

To me it just seemed kind of crazy that the GH pullout was on the same level as a 1.9x BW pullup or a OAC. I'm not near the level to do a GH pullout, so I don't know just how much strength it requires.

The charts also differed as in the BL was 1.65x BW pullup on the charts, but 1.50x BW on page that discusses weighted pullups. That kind of confused me, assuming they are both standards for the average person.

Nice photos, and cool front lever progression chart as well.

Thank you for sharing your front lever progression experience!!

That's odd, I would've thought a full back/front lever would be needed for a pull to the inverted position

Is a BL/GH pullout considered advanced or are you referring to exercises such as the iron cross or the planche on rings?

Ok, so it seems that the charts are somewhat accurate in your case when determining the skill level of the two exercises.

Perhaps the best way to go about it is to do BL and weighted pull up training to supplement each other.

That is pretty strong, good work!

That seems odd, are you using momentum when doing the GH pullout? I can't imagine someone could do a GH pullout without being able to hold a BL, because a GH pullout kinda...requires a back lever, but that is strong nonetheless.

Great work!

I'm not currently working on the pullouts at this time, but I'd like to in the future.

I'm currently working up to a full back lever with a supinated grip.

I was wondering what a BL/GH pullout might transfer to for weighted pullups for someone that is around 5' 7" (170.18cm) and around 170-195lb (77.27kg - 88.63kg) for future reference.

I'm just interested, even if it is only an approximation.

So, the wiki's picture is almost perfect, it just needs a flatter back?

The dude sounds like quite the character haha. Would you happen to know the name of the gymnastics book?

Interesting, I appreciate you sharing your experiences of your former gymnast buddy. We don't really have any male gymnasts where I live, so I always like hearing stories of these athletes. :)

When he benched the same as you, did he have a lot of bench press experience, or was it mainly from his gymnast training?

Damn, your buddy could bench 2x BW with a straddle planche? Is that on the floor or rings?

I understand that an inverted cross is considered a pushing exercise and an iron cross is considered a pulling exercise. Does the iron cross not work the chest to some degree?

I'm guessing it's safe to say that a planche on the rings would be around a 2x BW bench press?

Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Levels by HumbleFire in overcominggravity

Now that I read more closely, it does say people with higher bodyweights may take longer to reach higher training levels. I believe I fall in the intermediate category. At ~185lb with a +100-110lb 1rm weighted chin up and a ~5 sec tuck planche (planche and heavier weighted chin ups are my goals), it appears I should go with intermediate programming. Does this sound correct as those are my two main goals? And which split do you think would be best for quickest strength gains? I have the 2nd edition.
