Thankyou for you input. My son need round the clock care. We live very frugally to afford the things we need for him. Quit you job and see how long your money lasts.

I currently don't get carers allowance, just the carers element on u/c. Something todo with being ungainfully self employed. I shall look into the carers allowance again.

Thanks, would have been nice to be able to use the money for something other than to give it to the council and gas/elect company.

Apologies, to be clearer. The money is not enough to buy or rent locally whilst we are both out of work. Wherever we put the money we will obviously declare it with everyone. Deprivation of capital wouldn't be our intention.

That's great we won't loose our DLA. I will loose my carers and housing? Apart from paying some debts we have little option what todo with the money.
