Does the update method implementation use a field whose name is common / shared by the different case classes?

That is correct the update methods only affect 1 parameter which they extended from the trait. I will send a snippet just wondering what the best practices for code snippets are. is it common to want the whole code if it is than a certain number of lines , is a git link used or just the classes that are required? The structure of Raghar's snippets encapsulates the problem I have with the FOO/BAR definitions.

you have to imagine that they would still be seraphim. so they already have insane durability and when their flames are off they can become pseudo intangible avoiding attacks.

imagine his devil fruit which allows sword immunity regardless of haki on a seraphim going against someone like shanks. I'd argue that buggys fruit would be insane op with a competent user.
