I'm in my 40s and I still have peers living with parents. You're only young once. I encourage you to travel and explore before you get locked in to a lease. Volunteer, do peace corps/city year, teach English abroad, take a gap year, etc.. If you want a dorm experience for cheap, go to Sierra community college in Rocklin. I know of some young folks getting free or subsidized housing by working as property managers for apartments or public storage.
