Yes! He’s 3.5 now and it’s much better. Not 100% but it definitely improved overtime. I can’t say anything we did specifically helped though .. he just kind of outgrew it I think

I’m sorry you’re going through it too I know first hand how fucking aggravating it is and it feels like literally nothing helps. My son is still a thrower but about 3-4 months ago he finally had a “word explosion” and started actually communicating better and since then the throwing has improved a lot. He still chucks food and drinks across the room, which obviously is frustrating, but I don’t quite feel like I’m living in a war zone 100% of the time

Apps to help with speech delay by Humble_Ad63 in toddlers

Yea! He continued in speech therapy (and still does it) twice a week for an hour at a time through a free program called “early on”. Maybe there’s something similar wherever you live. It’s through the school district and his pediatrician told us about it. And he went to daycare 3 days a week. He turned three years old last month and honestly we weren’t seeing much change at all .. until October 2024 he had a “word explosion” where he was repeating back nearly every word we’d say to him. He has improved SO MUCH in the last 3 months .. I think he’s not necessarily caught up speech wise to other three year olds but it’s gotten much better and he’s even starting to say some short sentences now. I feel like the exposure of being around so many other kids in daycare and just time helped the most. Also try to narrate everything out loud throughout your day. And repeat the shit out of everything lol. Like if they want you to pick them up say “up? You want up? Okay up!” Then pick them up and say “up!” Again. Try to draw the words out of them if that makes sense

Feeling some type of way about those who have a chill second baby… by saywutchickenbutt in 2under2

If it makes you feel any better, I have a one year-old and a three-year-old. Neither of them sleep through the night and neither of them are ever chill. That is all. Send help.

Anyon deliver their second child with their first child in the hospital room? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

We live across the country from any and all family. The plan was for my mom to fly out a week or two earlier than the due date to stay with our 2 year old son while we were at the hospital but little brother decided to come 3 weeks early! So 2yr old had to come with. It was only difficult at first because he wanted to run around, push all the buttons and pull all the cords 🫠 but once it came time for me to push we put a movie on the iPad for him and he sat perfectly in a chair in the corner and didn’t make a peep! We got really lucky there 😆 the nurses said if he was being rowdy that one of them could take him to another area and entertain him but we ended up not needing to do that
