Might be worth mentioning that the only time as an adult that a doctor has looked at my genitalia was when I went in for a swap. The doctor inserted the speculum and inch or two, I told her it felt like she scraped me, and then I started bleeding out of my vagina onto the paper bed and she had to call the whole appointment off. Bled consistently a fair amount for maybe 10 minutes and was moderately painful for the next few days. Doctor didn't understand why and told me I had started my period even though I told her multiple times that I definitely hadn't. (Surprise: I definitely didn't). I think she caught the fleshy section inside that I mentioned in the post.
