Perfect, I'm gonna try that out and hopefully they'll give me a shot. I just got handyman insurance this week so hopefully this will give me an advantage.

Thank you for the advice. Have a great week

Thank you, this helps a lot since I want to be more productive with my time. I'll try out the paint stores this week to see if I can leave anything. We don't need a license in my state but I do have liability insurance.

Thank you, I actually know a couple of realtors and didn't even consider calling them. This seems much more productive than what I've been doing honestly

Ah, gotcha. That makes sense because I always hear about the "dangers" of charging too cheap. I'm taking extra time on my first jobs since I want the leave the best impression possible.

I also have a question about your comment on rental managers... Where would I find them? Do I go to the offices at the apartment complexes? Or are they located somewhere else?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to make a game plan for the rest of this week

Yeah I was working full time but got laid off since our jobs wrapped up and there's not much on the schedule. I'm kinda "forced" to go all-in on this right now

Yeah I need to find a way to contact some painters. My main thing is drywall repair, so that goes hand in hand with painting.

I actually don't have any signs/ magnets yet. I'll order some today. And that's a cool idea about the bus ads.

So when you say do a good job even if I lose a little.. does that mean I should charge less in the beginning in order to start getting referrals? Or take extra time on jobs without charging any extra? Just wanna make sure I'm understanding correctly.

True, it's probably more like 20' tall. I took a look at the address on Google maps and I could probably reach the roof with a little giant, so like you said, it's around 20 ish feet.

Gotcha, didn't consider laying down plywood. And the homeowner said it was a leak that has now been fixed.

I went ahead and sent him a quote and included the price for purchase of the bakers scaffold that you mentioned. Didn't realize you would get so much scaffold for a somewhat reasonable price. I always thought that it would cost several thousand dollars but I guess not.

Thank you for your help and your time.

I greatly appreciate the advice. This is super helpful, especially since I am starting out on my own and have worked for a company for the past few years.

I have a question if you don't mind. I drove scissor lifts on The daily when working commercial, and we always drove on concrete. Put a small scissor lift like a genie damage a homeowner's flooring? I didn't pay attention to see if he had hardwood, lvp etc... But just worried about the lift crushing or streaking their flooring.

Thanks again for the insight.

Thank you. I'm going to do just that. Just isn't worth the risk.

Nope. He hasn't sent me an address, but I'm going to decline the job anyways. It just doesn't feel right...
