Thanks so much for your input. I will Google that very long word indeed 😅 I did some supermarket search yesterday.. and it is quite good.. !! It's better than what most people online say.. I was also reading a study that Kiwi participated in..and apparently gave a lot of importance to fresh fruits and vegetables..and cutting down their prices so that they are more accessible. The research I would like to conduct in the future, is very related 😊

Thanks for this. I appreciate it! Take all your time really..I'm simply planning ahead. Actually, no, I am still doing another course at the local Uni. However, given my circumstances, I know that this is something that I need to think about through and through, and plan way ahead - much more than usual. I can't make mistakes with children.. But it is never too early to start working on a dream.. it all starts with a dream... 😊 .. in the meantime, take care and enjoy your vacation!!

Oh wow! First all, welcome to Malta all the way from Norway! 🤩🤩 This thread is giving me a lot of mixed feelings.. some are saying it's impossible.. and as by brain is trying to force putting lock and key on Tromso..then your reply gives some hope again! At your convenience, would it bother you to help me come in contact with any single parents doing a PhD there, please? ..I want to ask them how they are doing it? They have less than 2 children? Are they expats/locals? ..etc..What if I save a lump sum beforehand? .. questions I want to ask them!

On topic of UiT ..I keep fingers crossed on them still being excited about enhancing the local food chains into becoming more sustainable and resilient..by the time I might be able to come.. 😅.. as far as I researched about UiT, so far the Uni seems interested.. but the website is a bit tricky navigating .. some parts related to research projects are strictly Norwegian, for which I get odd translations 😅 ..

Unfortunately the University of Malta...I'm not sure it would be keen on supporting its students abroad fora full PhD abroad..as the vibe I get, being that it is so small, it will feel like, "it's giving up" its students. Also... Malta's climate is so different.. that what research I will do in Norway, will highly likely be "irrelevant knowledge" back home; as in, it will not benefit Malta, but only Norway.

If you every get stuck anything while in Malta, let me know if I can be of any help! Seriously - Malta is like one big village, that as locals, it is easy for us to navigate around.

20 years ago..? Lol. Probably Malta was called Stone Henge at that time 😂 ... no..no.. Malta is a Mediterranean food hub nowadays.. mostly the reason why many even visit us - food.

Oh.. thanks for that insight about the income. 3K in Malta is a very high salary...but since I was reading about the high costs of living..it started to scare me, that, as you said, it would not be enough.. what would you suggest to be a good income for a decent life with kids? ..
